Feedback Archaeology Event

Due to me missing the event for 1 or 2 days (due to work and not having a good reception for internet where I had stayed), I am on my way in getting a level 9 World's Fair if I don't spend a diamond for tools (currently, 1 base building plus 6 upgrades in inventory; 1 waiting for me when I finish the quest line). I only have 150 scrolls left so the next two days won't give me enough to buy another 330 set, which will have me to ponder the next two upgrades (with one that is close in reach) that are staring me in the face. Yet, it'll still sit in inventory, never to be taken off "first" ever again.

For the laptop lugging (or PC), arm chair sitting (browser) user, the event is fairly decent. For the mobile app user, not so much (you know my take on that).

Stop trolling...
If you do not want to share information or knowledge then please keep your disinformation to yourself...

Whose trolling or not sharing information? I have answered your questions AD NAUSEUM and you keep asking the same question expecting a different answer.

Perhaps board games are better suited for you? maybe Chutes and Ladders? Probably not. You would likely call Customer Service demanding how many rungs you have to step on to climb the ladder or whether or not the chute has safety guards so you dont fall off when you slide down it.

This is a game. There is a certain element of skill required to play it. Some people have more skill and some people have less skill. But at the end of the day its still just a game. When you play a game you either win or lose and sometimes you might even tie (if that is one of the rules of that game). What you do not get to do is whine and cry because nobody will hold your hand and walk you step by step so you can win the grand prize.

The only trolling I see here are all the people asking all the same questions over and over and over again because they obviously have nothing better to do then read the instructions or figure it out for themselves.

A "Prize" is a gift given to a person from another person. The "value" is only as much as the receiver places on it. If you don't like the gift? So What? That's your problem... Nobody else's.

Just because you have a "Wedding Gift Registry" set up? Doesn't mean your guests have to buy you the wedding gifts you want. A "Gift" is a "Gift" and NOT an expectation. The same applies to "Prizes" and you dont go on a game show and demand what you want simply because you dont like the prize for the game you are happening to play at the moment.

Well, some of the questions here are rather amusing.. Like "how many idols is there in total and how many is on game panel (assuming that means "the screen")"...
Those questions certainly cannot be answered. The position of idols IS RANDOM as is the number of them on any given screen. Especially because any given screen has random layout (depends how many columns you move to the right, even if everyone had the same labyrint, each player will have different any given screen).
As for the total number of idols, that number is UNLIMITED and cannot be stated. The length of the labyrint is unlimited and if you want to spend hundreds of dollars, you can obtain literally unlimited number of WFs of any level, because you can keep going and going and going.

At the beginning of the event I had doubts whether max lvl is attainable for free, realizing the sheer number of idols needed, but I believe that using proper tactics everyone can have it even with the randomness of the idols' position.
So if you didn't get max lvl on beta, don't give up on live, try changing the tactics. Ignore the vases completely (some will get open anyway by shovels and dynamite) and try to "shine light" on as many shadowed sand squares as possible with as few tools as possible. and do NOT try to uncover all of them, that is not worth it. Buy ONLY 330 scrolls packages and ONLY extra brushes... the price for smaller package and for single shovels and dynamite is again not worth it. Don't try to play it every day. Just collect the scrolls. play it only when daily special is worth the effort (like the carousel) and by pure statistics, some of those randomly ('accidentally") opened vases will give you that price regardless.

Imagine column of empty sands with one having a vase in it. Behind the square with vase is sand (shadowed) and behind the empty sand above the vase is empty square. proper tactics is NOT to uncover the vase, ignore it. Use brush on the empty sand in front of empty square. That will move you one step FURTHER than uncovering the vase and will show the content of the sand behind the vase. There you can decide what's next... and so on...

Hope it helped someone.

Missing event for 2 days = missing 60 scrolls from logins, that should NOT prevent anyone from getting lvl 10. Of course "you" can have such a bad luck, but statistically it is less likely than the opposite.

And yes, there will always be someone without max lvl. There is not a game in the world, where everyone will always win, that is simply impossible. I don't have every event building on max lvl on every server. I don't believe that anyone has without spending a lots of $$. So, please, remember, it is ONLY A GAME.. and have fun trying.

Yeah, most of the layout was either with bricked tiles or full of sand that has a blind area that one false brush off could mean using another brush to open. Also, had only a few idols popping up per six advances.

I was quoted that in the next 2 days we will get 160 scrolls. Adding to the 150 I have saved up would yield me 310, 20 shy from getting another 330 tool set. So in order for me to try for the last upgrade (after getting the previous), I will have to buy some scrolls which puts me into the "diamond spending" condition (even though it might be a small amount; the goal was to play without spending any whatsoever) in order to get it.

However, it's still a good run.

It's disappointing that once again I can't get a fully upgraded building, even after spending 4000 diamonds. I have enjoyed the event, but I feel you should be able to complete the building without diamonds.

I wonder what you have done then, i've spent 200 diamonds and will get mine to Level 10...

It is a random matter. Some are favored by chance and others are not.
I realized with the Carousel. I wanted it very much, so I kept my rolls to get it. I spent almost 4000 rolls and I did not succeed while other people got 8. It does not depend on us, it's a matter of luck.
I won´t do this event on live server.

You should give it a try. Play without diamonds, get what you get, and have fun. Luck is always changing, that's for sure...

No, I spent almost 5,000 diamonds here, so I'm not going to start on the live server because I'm not in position to spend that money. If I finish with level 7 paying 5000 diamonds, on the live server, I will get level 3, hahaha .... ;)

I only went after idols,

I think if you want a decent chance of getting level 10 with ease this will be the best way to go.
perhaps go after vases when something you really want, like the Carousel comes up.

I agree this seems to be the best way.
I admit i did mess up at the beginning as i used tools incorrectly at times.
Personally it would be nice if it was possible to open 2 or 3 columns at a time to help forward planning a bit more.
Ironically some of us might do better on live without diamonds ( even though we may have used them here ), purely because of the lessons we learned and advise given by others from their own experience with the event.
This event is tactical and needs a strategy ( with a bit of luck included ) its not hit and hope like most of the others, such as forge bowl or spring event.
I certainly hope they bring out more events with this type of format, take away the "hit and hope random " events.
Give us something worth doing. I dont mind not getting the max main prize as long as i enjoy the event. Also rerun event prize upgrades in future events, so players can eventually get the full main prize, even if they wait a while.

10 dolls short at this point to achieve lvl 10 (incl finishing event)... Rebalcing event mid in event had a negative effect on my chance to lvl 10 the WF.
http://prntscr.com/nhw6y8 = the bad luck i have

Currently, I am sitting on a level 9 WF in inventory with the final upgrade within my reach (from completing the quest line; whichever it may be). I had to spend 2k diamonds to get two 330's. However, it looks like luck (I really hated such as it should be fixed so we know what we're getting each time around) took a very heavy nose dive as I get around 1-2 idols per 6 block advance with more bricks that made it hard to plan accordingly as I do not know what is beyond and I've been making a bunch of false digs as a result. I had to wind up spending another 2k diamonds due to this and now am sitting on preparing for the last quest (give me something easier so I can get that final upgrade, dammit).

Personally, I think when you start to dig, it's easier as the sand tiles to brick was like 20:1 in appearance. As you get every 20 idols, the map difficulty increases and the ratio of sand to brick shifts to give you more brick tiles to go around. You have to literally blast on the far right to get the map to advance to see the next area (one block advance). If this was done where a person digs from the 2nd column to the right, perhaps, it could show the next area so planning to use tools can be made instead of trying to rely on "blind luck".

I haven't spent a single diamond and I am only at lvl 4... I "did" however uncover vases (because I wanted to) and wasted tools (because I was measuring average user play style)... Yet I still got to level 4 and have a bit more then a day left. I also haven't been trying to complete the quests.

All of the above was my choice, our choices have consequences, caveat emptor and all that...

My mom used to go to bingo at the casino whenever she could. Her favorite people to "watch" were those who would have an entire table full of cards in front of them. She would laugh every time one of them complained the caller was going to fast or when she would overhear one or more of them sharing their conspiracy theories on how the games were fixed because there was no way they had all these cards and didn't win anything.

My mom played the same number of cards because that was her bingo budget. She won more then she spent (surprisingly) and her girlfriend who went with her won a new car... To think... If ma had been in front of her friend instead of behind her? She would have won that new car.

Go Figure Fate...

A colleague of mine was invited out to a bingo night one time. It was her first visit and she won quite a large prize. Her friend, who was a regular, quietly suggested to her, "You should probably leave now. Go straight to your car, get in and go." All the folks who welcomed her when she arrived were giving her a very different look as she left. For some folks, bingo is serious business.

Now, I don't even know if I really wanted to do this on the live server I reside in. It will depend on how Inno adjusts in the player's favor the final aspects of the event. 50% did mention they could get the level 10 without spending any diamonds (kudos to them). The other 50% (where I fall in) have to make it up by spending diamonds (and sometimes real money to get the diamonds needed). Besides spending for one 180 tool set (I know, bad me) just to try it out (got it that point by completing a few quests at the onset of the event via the browser; as the mobile test of this event wasn't available), I had saved to spend for the 330 sets that it can throw at me.

However, luck played its dirty hand when it decided to give me more brick walls and without a "future" sight, it was hard to determine where to hit next and not have a false hit that would have me use another tool just to set it up for effective removal.

I still maintain that as we pick off 20 idols and claim the grand prize, the map difficulty increases to include dropping in more brick tiles and less sand tiles (or open spots to drop a shovel or stick of dynamite onto).

I am not going to lie, it's a good event. A bit different than your "league" based ones where it could get stressful in trying to compete with others to keep a certain rank or spot and claim said prizes at the end. I am hoping more of these will come in the future, but could we leave the luck junk at the door? Nothing frustrates a player when they feel they are not getting anywhere that they just "give up" and leave it there.

You got that right! My ma used to tell me stories and when I was old enough to "Accompany" her? I got to see it firsthand. I didn't like playing Bingo, but I sure as heck liked people watching while others did play Bingo.
