I been through the recipe bit several times now and have a lvl 9 golden crops, I hadnt noticed when I got it to lvl 6 as I received another lvl 1 golden corps field before getting a further 3 upgrades ..seems odd getting another lvl 1 before collecting upgrades to do the first one

That's because mathematical percent and Innopercent are two different units. Anything and everything in this game uses Innopercent. It has nothing to do with mathematical percent of probability. I though that everybody knew that already, after so many years..

Daily challenge is a must if you want maxed out building for free. Mathematically it won't work otherwise.
I have 4 kits (level 5 now)... need 4 more:
1 kit from quest line
10 days of quests = 20 ingredients = one junk
10 days of daily challenge = 20 ingredients = 1 kit
I have 32 ingredients in the storage at this moment = add to it from 10x daily login (that I can't recall if it is 1 or 2 per day... Lets assume the worse case, only 1 = 42 in total = one more junk and one more kit ... BUT!! that includes unknown number of ingredients from incidents. I really do not remember...
And the last kit will be from the box from summer casino, which I haven't opened yet.
I may or may not get one from apprentice league, guess it depends how many people finish the event, if a lot, then I'm out of luck (any higher league can't be for free)
So with league is one kit extra, without league it is just so. I did all daily challenges, if I didn't, it is 20 ingredients = grand prize less for every 10 days of the event. I don't believe it is possible without all daily challenges if you don't spend diamonds. Unless you find all these "missing" ingredients in the incidents.

ok so I'm not alone with that. I also did all daily challenges and right now it didn'lt look like I'll get a kit from league. I found lots of ingrdients in incidents - compared to other events, much more.
so this event building will be really hard to get which doesn't make sense to me. It's a building for beginners, and for beginners it will be really hard to get it - daily challenges are not that easy to fullfill for beginners. so this time you really have to decide in playing - getting daily prices or get full eventbuilding. without always taking the cheapest/price ingredient it won't work.
edit: and you'll have to look that you take the ingredients evenly - otherwise you'll have to much left and that will also prevent you from getting the event building.

Is there anything preventing you from getting friends? And if you have no tavern silver is your tavern upgraded? The good thing about that quest is if you can scrape enough together then any upgrades for the tavern count towards the expenditure which you then have towards future progress

Agreed. Daily Challenges start in Iron Age, events start in the beginning of Bronze Age with the unlocking of features spread out that slow down progress through Bronze Age. So it's not just "not that easy for beginners", it's also not an option until a bit later on once the player has developed their city and understanding of the game

Friends Tavern only unlock at the end of bronze age.
And if nobody wanna go to my tavern i can't do that quest, then we need an alternative like for past events.

Basically, for this event, I personally COMPLETELY IGNORE what does any of the cakes offer. I bake according to the ingredience required, so I have always the same amount of each, depleting them equally. It is the only way. If you focus on what you "want" from the cakes, then you can say bye bye to the maxed out building. It is either or.
