What amazes me is that there must have been a team meeting where someone stood up, proposed this, and no-one else at the meeting told them that it was a terrible idea.
There was a joke here, but evidently it was deemed to be "dev bashing" which is against the rules - really? - what is everything else here then?

This is joke? I'm in the early Middle Ages ... picking up players from the Mars Outer and Space Belt? Does this actually make sense?

The little boys were asked what they wanted Santa to bring for Christmas. One asked for a Superman outfit, the second for a Batman outfit and the third for a cowboy outfit.
On Christmas morning there were only 2 presents under the tree. The first boy opened a splendid Superman outfit with flowing cape, the second opened a wonderful Batman outfit complete with utility belt. The third boy looked crestfallen.
"Where's the cowboy outfit?", he asked.
His father pointed at a small envelope.

nice, looks like you stand zero chance on ever winning if you still are in the lowest ages and only have SAM and SAAB opponents while having no opportunity to change them for others

okay, there are much complaints here and with most I agree. But yet: it was fun to play it this morning and to win all battles.
I would love to have more battles per day, maybe every 2 hours a new attempt. And of course I still believe the option for manual battle would be a great improvement.
I didn't try a battle against SAAB army (being in Colonial), but maybe theses armies of high ages have only one or two units, who knows? When my next attempt is available, I'll just try it.

When we fight in the Neighborhood now we have no score display anymore?? I really dislike no PVP tower. It is a big part of my game being #1 it. Challenging myself against others,, This is not the same at all. I can't get rid of my three choices to battle it seems,, ema people while im in Mars. It looks as if i have to pay to fight a battle to switch? I guess who ever spends most diamonds takes the prizes which are not really great as the whole server is playing for 1 prize? I think?

this is by farr THE WORST feature intorduced by inno games in forge of empyre...
and now we have 2 defending armies in the army status bar....just good when u play gvg or speed gbg.....

One of the main reasons I kept playing Forge was PvP. I built up armies in multiple ages as I went, so I could fight in the lower-age tournaments as well. I piled up player points through PvP. I sometimes fought as many as 70 battles a day. I used manual all the time when attacking neighbors.
Now I can fight 10 fights a day, on auto only. To fight more times than that I have to buy attempts (with diamonds, of course) to fight more than 10 fights. My opponents are Space Age Asteroid, Virtual Future, and EMA. I'm EMA.
I am going to be protesting this change in every possible venue. If it isn't scrapped, I'm done with Forge. I've been playing since 2013. Some changes I've loved, others I've not liked. This is the first time I've hated a change. And hated it enough to quit, period.
This "PvP" is a TRAVESTY, and the biggest mistake I've ever seen Inno make.

So I am in EMA, and 1st place is SAAB, 2nd place is Modern... Inno has lost its touch with this game big time. Mainly only made for high age players.

Look at the bright side folks, if you are EMA/LMA or whatever low age if you manage to win a battle against SAAB player, screenshot it and go show off on global you are beating SAAB players like piece of cake
Then go figure why would you need to waste so many fps/goods and etc teching up all the way to SAAB when you can sit where you are all the time

The great inno-designers would put dices even in chess.
Noone of them can see the simple: that the most players play the game for the real (manual) battles...

You can still fight your neighbors. You can still hit 70 a day.
The opponents for the arena need to be fixed. I can't beat SAAB troops with HMA troops. I agree with Leo that the opponent matching is horrible.

I confused about the stats it shows, it says a player has 17% attack and 6% defense but they have CoA and zeus and CDM which gives u much more...
Also has an event buildings for defense for defending army that gives much higher then 6% defense.

Well I tried to take a look and I cannot even get in. When I click on the Tower I am taken to my Army Management screen and told to set my PvP defense army but there is no way to do that.
