Feedback St Patrick's Day Event

this event is a huge fake, I have to get 8aa for 2 days and impossible to get them, I have to do what to spend diams? No way!
 
Let's put it this way-if my boss told me he was going to need me to do more work, that's OK with me. Heck, I might enjoy the challenge of the new work. But if I have to take on new work while at the same time getting my paycheck slashed...well, that's where I might get a little testy.
you got the metaphor right - kind of (~half of it) ;)

so far it was:

work (quests) for event currency - then spend it how you like (on a variety of daily prices) at your choice & convenience.

now it is:
you have to work for being allowed to spend your event currency (in addition to the quests).
but only for what's on the two menus (one fixed - grand prices, one random - chests)

so to stay with your boss picture:

your boss would make you work MUCH HARDER for you to be allowed to spend your money.
but only in his company, and only for what he puts on you menu.

and if you want menu two (or several) times, he would double the price.
just because he can.

and to make sure you are not getting too IDLE ... :mad:

wait, not so fast, we here have 24h of event and still don't get those chests

For the chest you need to finish the stage (the 38tasks or do about 35tasks and you'll be able to buy the stage with 8.4aa, just play and you'll understand), this is all you need to know for now
Started the event on pc. Never had the chance to open à first chest for free. And I don't find where the chests could be on the screen. I have the quest window, the game window with the tasks etc but no chests. Nowhere to be found... Is it normal ?

I really like 4 hr quests. Just, fyi, I believe that quest 22, 24, and 25 all offer 4 hr quests as an option.

Yup I agree with you 100%. The difference here is that I work for my boss; Innogames works for us. I had actually thought about such a disclaimer in there but didn't want to go on a tangent about how Inno is supposed to answer to us (the customers) rather than the other way around, but I've done that before on this Forum and it's usually not productive, so I keep the analogy incomplete. I'd rather keep the emphasis on Inno's little "twist" on the event :).

Should be :mad: actually. Because holy jumping BS of all that's good and holy is that prize rotation a slap in the face. Even if it does balance somewhat with the chests, it's just terrible, awful optics to double the filler in the same event that prize redemption becomes much more in-depth. REALLY bad idea!

The mechanics just are not suitable for an event.

This would actually make a rather cool type of cultural settlement, though one that is limited to earning only one complete level 2 CF set. As a settlement, you would win more CF set fragments the faster you complete each stage. Then players decide how fast or slow they want to proceed, just as they do now with Viking and Japan settlements. Once you’ve won a full level 2 CF set, the settlement can’t be restarted (it could be replaced with another limited-run settlement)

However, for events, this is a fail. Players should expect that events: 1) can be completed logging in once a day for no more than 30 minutes; and 2) with that level of commitment they have a very high chance (>90%) of getting the full main event building(s).

Obviously, players have a responsibility to work for the event’s prizes by doing all quests, collecting incidents, and whatever else is needed to get event currency and meet the basic event requirements. It should be a challenge, and require strategic thinking and effort.

But it should never be the choice that this event is pushing: either pay diamonds, or give up real life for 20 days.

This is supposed to be a fun experience. Yet FoE more and more resembles the daily grind of work, which I want a break from.

well that's quite an abstract statement.
however harsh my statements may be, i try to add specific criticism.
and alternative proposals (wherever / whenever i can provide those).

however the way i understand the beta forum is: here is the right place for specific critical remarks.
and if something's broken / breaking the way the game works it needs to be expressed immediately in strong words.

that's also why i came here specifically for this event:
there was basically two options: either it's amazing new mechanics, or it's a potential breaking point for foe.

at the moment it looks like the latter - unfortunately. :(

Bug: as someone said before, the tasks don't show complete/ collect in the minibar, you need to open the tasks

Read a few comments, but 28 pages ia a bit much so I will comment first and read later.

In short:
* The announcement was unclear, and the minigame seemed very complicated. That may kleepo people from actually trying it.
* Once I got playing it sorted itself out, but again many people in the live game may not take that hurdle
* Love the fact that you ave invented a new mini game, kudos for that!
* Simplify upgrading the ferry and festival by eliminate insignificant increment levels and keeping the milestone upgrades only*
* Add a a timer that shows when you can upgrade the ferry or festival to the next milestone level
* Eliminate the festival as a bottleneck**
* Set buildings are too large as a whole. The size of event building seems to be gettig gradually larger, and that is an issue for players in lower eras I think, and for those who have ben playing for a while and are running out of space
* It is unclear whether you can afford to upgrade managers without running out of gold for future cities, let alone whether you can afford to buy chests. Solution: introduce a different currency for the chests, or simply eliminate the need to upgrade the managers
* In addition to the previous: as long as the same currency is used, it should be possible to skip quests where you need to upgrade managers. beter is to eminiate the need to level the managers. The next logical step woud be to eliminate the managers entirely, or keep them as diamond options only.



*:
The current system allows the player to advance the factories, ferry and festival by small increments. For the factories those increments tend to be significant only for the first few clicks after a milestone (10, 50, 100). For the ferry and festival, the increments beteen milestones make so litle difference as to be insignificant. And therefore nearly useless. Eliminating those insignificant increments saves clicks, and makes the game less complex. A double win.


**: Having both the ferry and the festival as a bottleneck means you have to upgrade both before the hamrocks are delivered. So to advance to the next REAL level, you need to click twice. Especially at the later levels, the time between those two signifant clicks is long, and makes it harder for casual players to reach the final goal (finishing the settlement). Reduce it to one click per level.
 
Since not using the proper abbreviations for the powers of thousand anyway, I propose alternate meanings for the letters:
1000 = 1 kache (as in cache: French for chest)
1000k = 1 magazine (as in 'ordered stack')
1000m = 1 barrel
1000b = 1 ton
1000t = [and this pun is double-funny for Germans as the spoken 'ah-ah' is baby speak for sh*t like poo:] 1 sh*t-ton! *rofls at own joke*

Just finished the 2nd stage and I see no point in this event - the amount of chests needed to get selection kit resets every time so u HAVE TO spend 1900 pots of gold just to get selection kit at the end on a stage
I thought that if I open 4 chests at the end of the 1st stage I'd have 4/6 at the end of the 2nd stage but it seems to reset...
