Event Soccer Cup 2023

Dear Kings and Queens,

Get ready to lace up, team! It's time for the 2023 Soccer Cup! But keep your eye on the ball, as we're mixing things up a bit this year! We're borrowing the playbook from the Anniversary Event and introducing the merge mechanic into the game plan. So, gear up, get your team in shape, play your hearts out, and remember - there are amazing rewards waiting for you at the final whistle!

The Soccer Cup will start on June 28th and runs until July 18th!

Spawn and merge the players​

When the event kicks off, follow the markers to complete the training section. This will introduce you to the mechanics of this year's event! Once the tutorial is complete, you will gain access to a pitch full of players. Most of these players will be locked in place by netting. To activate the player, you need to spawn another player of the same type and merge them. Click on the Warm-Up button to pay 10 footballs and call a new player to the field. You can then use this player to activate and free a locked player of the same type. Merging players will level them up and increase their star rating. Every new merge with a locked player will also get you a small reward and Grand Prize progress. The higher the star rating of the player, the bigger the reward! Note: players will get you different types of reward depending on their type. Check out the Cheat Sheet under the board to see which rewards you can get!

Convert players into badges​

There are three types of player: Attacker, Midfielder and Defender. Each locked player will also come with a badge part: either an inner or outer part. Pay close attention to these when you are choosing which players to merge! If you merge two players with badge parts, those parts will be combined into a full badge. But remember - to make a full badge you need to merge an inner part and an outer part, as well as matching the type of player.

Each merge you make will add a star to the star rating of the player. Build your players up to 4 stars to gain the maximum amount of 3 badges.

	Send the players with a full badge into your Cool Down box to remove them from the pitch and free up the badge. Badges can be created on all players, but the higher the star rating of the player, the more badges you will get for converting them! Merging your players will increase their star rating.​

Open chests for rewards​

Badges can be used to unlock chests to give you a chance to win the Daily Special, among a variety of other useful resources! Your first chest of each day will also have a bonus increasing the prizes you gain from that chest, so pick your first chest of the day carefully!

The objective is to clear all the player combinations on the pitch and collect all of the badges required to open the reward chests. If you have removed all of the players on the pitch, you can reset the board for free to populate it with new players and keep matching. But most importantly, you get a board completion reward for the finished board!

Feeling stuck? Don't worry, you can also reset the board with locked players still on it. One refresh a day is free, but you will have to spend Footballs to do the reset afterwards. If you have a lot of players left on the board, you'll gain some bonus badges when you progress to a new board!

Every time you merge a player or open a chest, you gain progress towards the Grand Prize. This year's Prize includes kits for our beautiful new building, the Aegean Resort!

As you might have noticed, we have made a visual improvement for the badges today: Instead of having a left side of a badge, right side and full one, we now have an inside, outside and full, sparkling badge.
This change was done based on your feedback provided in the feedback thread and support tickets.
