Greetings Beta,

The City is the central part of Forge of Empires. It is the core of your efforts and a visual representation of your progress and might. Over time, many players have managed to expand their cities to large metropolises. While they are great to look at, they are not so easy to manage. The tools we had in place to move buildings around work very well for small to medium-sized cities. However, as cities grew and the current average city size is far greater than a few years ago, it's become increasingly obvious that significant changes to very large cities are somewhat cumbersome to execute.
We sat down and thought about possible improvements to the way cities can be reconstructed.
We came up with a new mode that allows you to make large-scale changes much easier. You will find the description of the new Reconstruction Mode below! :)

When you open the building menu, you will notice that it now comes with an additional icon:

When you click it, you will open a new, empty section where you can temporarily store buildings to make rearranging easier. You can fill the temporary storage with buildings and streets by clicking on the buildings in your city. They will be stored and arranged in tabs according to the building type:

When you have made enough room in your city, you can start placing buildings back onto the city grid.
You must place all your buildings back in the city before you can save and leave the reconstruction mode. At any point before saving, you can also revert your changes and restore the old city layout. If you close the game before saving, all your progress in the Reconstruction Mode will be lost.
It is worth mentioning that moving buildings to and from the temporary storage does not stop their production, so you don't need to worry about resetting production timers!

In the initial Beta phase, the feature is only available on browser. Very soon, the entire feature will be also available on mobile - we think it will be even more useful there!

Please be aware that Reconstruction Mode will only be available to you after you research Mathematics.

It's important to mention that this is the first version of the reconstruction mode. Since this is a large feature, your feedback is valuable to us. We want to hear what you think, so we know what changes and adjustments we can make to the feature.

So, please send us your thoughts! You can leave any feedback here -> click!

Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,
Your Forge of Empires Team - Team Beta
