We have received an update today that includes a new GvG map - Free for All. For the most part this map works like the rest of GvG, with two very important differences:
- This map requires medals instead of goods;
- Units from any era can be used on this map without restrictions.
You will notice that in the guild treasury you can now donate medals, and you have the ability to see how many medals are in storage. You cannot use goods on this new map --- the siege costs, as well as the costs for placing defending armies, can only be paid with medals.
You also have the option to fight with units from any era and place units in defense from any era. You can choose units from a particular age, or you can mix things up and select units from various ages. Please be aware this map is very advanced and while it is possible to use units from all ages, older (or ancient
) units might not perform as well as other from later eras.All NPC sectors are filled with FE units, so keep that in mind if you're going after sectors not owned by a guild. At this time this is a test release of this new map. Features and balancing of it may change at a later point as it is being further tested. As we are updated of any changes we will inform you all.
This new map is targeted at advanced players that are looking for a new challenge in GvG without needing to switch maps after they transitioned to a new era. Units from all ages can be used and the change in costs from goods to medals also allows to remove limitations that come from having to produce goods of a specific era.
