Feedback Guild Battlegrounds Update 2023

I like alot of the changes but the buildings in the starting sectors are very expensive for less powerful guilds. For the strong guilds, that conquer many sectors, the 25-100% extra victory points, for every sector conquer, is worth it.

A cheaper version is needed that only gives 20-80 % chance reduction to gain attrition and maybe 5-30% advances to be conquered. This could help the weaker guilds get out of their base.
it might if the stronger guilds did not know they were keeping you in base to start with

Last 10 attrition points are clearly made against HAU players, so they don't do a lot more fights than the other players.
Let's see how long it will take to beat 24k/24k with the future powercreeped buildings.
Wow, Incredible: How in the world does one get to 210 attrition???

The attrition change I noticed on my IA player, able to do more, nice! This helps lower age and growing players.

So, 6 seasons vs 8. Need to win 5/6 for L2 tower. 2 top guilds in 3 seasons will have to decide bcs they can only be 2nd once. Very interesting.
Before, they could lose 2 to each so have to be matched up 5 times of 8.
Significant difference between L1 and L2, esp guild goods.

It seems wrong to me that the base VP are random.
We are offered to compete in the number of VP, but we are given a random starting number of VP.

I'm decently sure this is a list of all the places you can place in to get enough fragments of the Tower of Champions. You must finish first at least 5 times for the level 2, but otherwise I don't think it will be impossible to get the level 1, and it could get quite competitive, especially towards the end of the championship.

with the number of fights which increased, it is very inequitable to have guilds with 20 players with guilds with 80 players on the same battlefield
but the matchmaking doesn't care about guild size
only about LP

but maybe we should propose the idea to use the guild size too and use the formula
LP * guildsize / 80
instead of just LP

I see a major problem with the Champ reward. That being only the best get better. It does nothing with regards to making competitive leagues. The strongest wins and gets stronger. Each new league the weak see less chance to win and human nature is to move away from that kind of fight. Points toward the reward were expanded so that third gets some but most third place guilds will still be stuck in 1K where 7 thirds gets you nothing. It will take quite a string of luck for most good but not great guilds to get the champ reward making for a major imbalance.

it takes so much to get the higher age units, then even more to get enough attack boost to play beyond the maximum attrition.
and now they double it to 24k... makes me sad.
The worst part is after years of playing, planing and fighting, one update and its all gone...
They increased it because there is a building which makes you have more than 10000% of attack boost. In the previous, GBG, + AO, and the new titan GBs, you could do infinite fights without using siege camps.

So that's what happens - we are offered to blindly compete with other groups for 6 seasons, each season for 11 days.
The goal is to score more VP in order to climb higher in the rankings.

Complication:
- combat fatigue;
- increase in the cost of goods for construction.

Given randomly:
- groups of 8 opponents, and maybe less;
- the number of slots is random, but guaranteed to be 1 in each sector;
- construction goods are random, but you can hope they will match the eras of your guild;
- base VP are random, but more in the center;
- rewards for battles are random.

This is not a strategy game.

It seems to me that this goal has changed to fighting the players.
It has been a fighting game ever since I started it. Why do you think there were several plunder enhancing GBs way before they released the plunder repelling one? The removal of PvP when Arena v1 was launched caused such an uproar that it was taken down from live servers within a week. Gvg continues to be popular precisely because it is a live fight against others. The last part of the official aim, as you say, is precisely that. How do you achieve fame and glory if you don’t use that improved city that you have worked towards with all the revenue and expenditure balance?

I see a lot of the same complaints/opinions/assumptions as before about what this will mean for smaller or weaker guilds/players. There is only one way to address the issue of small guilds vs big guilds and that is matchmaking. Maybe these changes will change something in that, since small guilds simply don’t have the bodies to make it through to winning a season in lower leagues. Maybe. But the answer to the ‘weaker’ part is simple. Improve. And if you still can’t compete as a guild, merge or recruit and grow stronger. It’s not the fault of developers if players don’t want to do that.
