Hi!
I will not do Daily Challenge anymore. I thought Forge of Empires was a strategy game, not a string of nonstop boring actions. Besides, the rewards don´t match with the effort. It has finished for me and if it´s a requirement to keep playing, I´ll leave the game.

What happens if someone switch time from ie 12.00 to 01.00 (or 23.00) ? Is this mean next daily challenge will have timer down by 11 (13 for 23.00 version) hours or extended by 13 hours (11 hours for 23.00 time version)?
That's a very good question! :) The plan is to do it according to the following basic rules:
  • Challenges always end 24h after the set start time.
  • A new challenge will not begin whilst another one is in progress.
  • When you change the start time, the current ongoing challenge will not be affected. It only applies from the next one on.
  • After the current challenge is over, the next one will begin at the "next occurrence of the hour you've set".

Example:
I use the default time (8 AM). At 9 AM, an hour after the challenge had started, I decide to change it to 10 AM. The current challenge runs its course and ends at 8 AM the next day. I have to wait 2 hours for the next challenge to begin (because I've changed it to 10).

Example 2:
I use the default time (8 AM). At 9 AM, an hour after the challenge had started, I decide to change it to 7 AM. The current challenge runs its course and ends at 8 AM the next day. I have to wait 23 hours for the next challenge to begin (because I've changed it to 7 AM).

Can you foresee any problems? Of course we see that you may need to survive a longer wait when you change it to your preferred time. However, we expect that most players will not be changing that setting constantly. And also that is a possibility that currently does not exist at all, so we consider it quite an improvement :).

What do you think?

I couldn't agree.
GE buildings are the same that we had already, and I don't know already what to do with dozens of GE decors, flames and tribal squares stored in my inventory. The same story will be with DC's, if they would be introduced.
But I do like an idea to get some buildings from sets that I had missed during events, and, of course, WWs and SKs.
I agree with you about the decorations. They are rarely usefull, but I just suggested a few more
usefull DC-items. Like a new unit that you can only get via DC's and it's strenge grow with your
age so it's usefull for every player (how can find use for it's exclusive special skill). Also a stronger
SoK / oassis, but only seen in the challanger chest with 7% win chance. A joker to skip one
challange once in the 7 days, can been find in some chests of DC. Personal I find a joker
that you can use any day overpowerd in DC's, but if it's limited to once in the 7 days it does
mean that you still have to complete 6 DC's for the Challanger chest and still you have to
solve DC that gives you the joker before you can use it.
A unique DC building that gives you a dailly mini puzzle to solve resulting in a reward and a
another special building with references with the DC quest giver. Seems this a bit usefull to
you?:)

By the way this was the original post of my suggested stuff:
(...)
Suggestions
Everything can get always slightly better, right? Well I would like to share some suggestions
with you, to improve the DC, to make it much more intressting.

DC-exclusive buildings
DC-SoK - a extremely rare variation of the SoK that gives 2 fp's, only for a small chance as grand prize
DC-oasis - a extremely rare variation of the oasis, is smaller than the oasis or 10 goods/day when motivated, also only for a small chance as grand prize

Less powerfull DC's
Castle of the Unknown - special building
DC-unit, a special unit like the champ. stats depends on the age and does have a unique special skill*
DC-unit barrack, allows production of 1 DQ-unit, like the champ second slot needs diamonds
DC-temporary tavern upgrade - special item that allows usser to unlock for a short amount of time some extra tavern boosts
DC-puzzle well - grands player every day a small puzzle to solve, like a WW but with a small minigame
DC-joker - a item that you can use one time, it auto complete the DQ of the day for you, can been used only once in the 7 days

DC-exclusive booster
A slightly stronger type of booster of any type, can be find as a reward of some DQ's

Idea for unique skill DC-unit
A idea for the unique skill of the DC unit is, that this unit will copy the special skill(s) of any unit that he first attacked
for that battle. So for example the player used it's DC unit and strikes a manta, his/her DC-unit will have the skills
Poisen and Contact for that battle. This allows players to customize there DC.

Why DC-exclusive rewards would make it more intressting, is pretty simply. Players can show to each other how good
they are in DC, they like GE exclusive buildings too. They are functional, very rewarding, fun to have/get and they can show
that they are doing it well in GE.
I just did bring a few DC-exclusive items/buildings ideas. This is just to give a startpoint IF you decided to pick it up, just
like the GE exclusive buildings, how turn out pretty good. I believe that making some things exclusive to the DC, like in
GE it will make the function more intressting. Under grand prize I understand the prizes from Challanger chest that you
get after completing 7 DC's.

I'll hope that my feedback help you guys a bit with improvments in the DC's :) and maybe giving even some inspiration
for something.

10 to the bar FP for doing 4-5 quests err challenges is just too low. Let alone the chance of getting them is over 50%. By comparison a normal quest will give you a 5 FP pack for solving, so even if it was just as good as those it would be 20-25 points in packs. So not only is this not better it's worse.

FPs are always useful to people. But having people jump through hoops for such a low amount of them is not good and does not compel people to do these when they have a 55% chance of getting only 10 for much much more work than it takes to get them 5 in any other quest.

The FP reward amount needs to be upped considerably. FP prize should take into account the much harder conditions, the up to 5 individual quests, and the fact they go to bar so are right off the bat less useful. 30 Points would be about even with normal quests 40 points begins to lean towards an actual prize. 50 and people may be motivated to actually do these even if they're not desperate enough to take the 5% shot at the 'good' prize they may not need.

If you want more people to try for these they have to give something worth trying for. The percentages for the set pieces are so low no one should ever hope to win a full set playing these so now you've wittled your player base down to just those missing pieces and banking on the idea they don't realize how low 5-10% really is chance wise. The consolation prize needs to come at least close to the value. This is supposed to be a strategy game after all, not a year round casino.

That being said my quests today were all possible given how early it is in GE. Hopefully the fixes changed the impossible scenarios.

I can understand if there is a need to keep the reward inflation down for a repeatable activity.

That said, I would remove the 24 hour expiration and say you can only get rewards at most once / day.

Opportunity cost will keep people focused on getting things done quickly.

The rewards are more in line with a nice bonus for something that is less pressure / investment.

I think the Daily Challenge is a waste of time and effort. Even with the new re-balanced challenge I still got a requirement for 2500 tavern coins which I cannot gather before it resets. Live may be different but not everyone plays Beta every day. The Hunter only required watching the time to gather coins, supplies, goods, etc. Trying to replace the Hunter with the Daily Challenge and Incidents is not working. I will not try the Daily Challenge again.

The biggest problem so far is that the Daily Challenge causes players to stop aid, stop activating large bonuses from the tavern (and even collect coins at a full table), stop attacking their neighbors, stop fighting in the Guild expedition, stop collecting quests that are already ready, among other things.

One solution I propose:

 Instead of the quests asking "DO", they ask "DONE".

-Instead of defeating 50 enemy units in battle
-Have defeated 50 enemy units in battle in the last 24 hours

-Instead of activating a bonus from the tavern
-Have a bonus from the tavern activated

-Instead of "AID 30 buildings"
-Have 30 AIDED buildings

-Instead, resolve 5 conflicts by negotiating the guild expedition.
-Have 5 disputes resolved by negotiation in the current guild expedition

...

That way, players could interact and play without being concerned about what might come on the next mission. If he is effectively playing and interacting (which is the goal of the game), he only has to win.

i dont think getting fps as a reward is worth doing challenges for, not everybodies game revolves around getting as many fps as possible

Fair enough, this one. But not every chest contains FP, and the ones that do typically have it as only the 'worst' prize. FP is still better than getting coin or supply, isn't it? Unless it's one of those 'big' packages in the 100% chests, I'm not sure what numbers those spit out but yeah.

my indian chest had 3 tasks today & a 55% chance of getting 10fps so while it is the worst prize its the 1 with the highest chance of winning, the only reason i did it was because 2 of the the tasks completed while i was doing the fall event

I will say i was surprised when i yesterday, because there was FP in the Righthand chest, picked that one, and saw that the Challengers Chest have been filled with no BUM prizes, the Boost Crates are gone. I might opt to do some anyway. And i got the 100 FP edition chest at 10%)
If i DO NOT select a Chest does that count as a fail, or does the Daily solve indicator just stand still?

I like that you made daily challenges less difficult for most players.

90 times 5 minutes, however, require either many production buildings, or being online for quite some time (or some times).
It will remain, for many, a real challenge.

@innogames what exactly do you think is reducing the amount in such quest conditions? 90x5 min instead of 75x5 min?

Have we had confirmation (or not) on whether selection of a particular DC Chest affects the number of Challenges received that day?
E.g. are there fewer Challenges required for the 100% Coins/Supplies Chests compared to the Shrine or Event Chests?

Most intuitive way to individually start the Daily Challenge might be the way a 24h boost is started in the tavern: it has a 24h timer, ends, and you can restart whenever you choose.

In your post on Monday Zarok Dai said 'The challenge asking you to solve other quests was sometimes too hard. We kept the challenge, but reduced amount of quests it will ask you to complete.'
Today one of my DC's is complete 2 other quests, one of which is to scout 2 provinces which take 24 hours each (so impossible). My second quest is to research a specific tech for which I would need to spend 140 FP's. I only collect approx 80 in 24 hours which forces me to spend packs which I feel is unfair. Third quest I can do which is acquire 5 sectors.
This is the 1st time I have had challanges which are impossible. I have finished the Fall event so I am unable to use quests from it.
I have completed every day until now. I was really enjoying the DC's and enjoying the challenges that were set. I found that it did not affect my normal game play to much. I was not doing it for the prizes I was completing them for the challenge and the fact that I felt a sense of achievement. I am aware that this is not the way most players are feeling about DC's but this is my opinion.
