What will happen with the daily challenge prize if I do not collect?

Suppose that I complete a daily challenge, but do not collect the prize. Next day, after 12am, what will happen?
The prize vanishes and a new challenge will appear?

After testing this, after leaving the page open and going back to it after the reset, the reward showed up in a pop up box and the daily challenge reset as normal.

Thanks! I was wondering about that too. I guess the same is true then for the weekly chest when completing the 7th daily without collecting it. I had wondered about that for a while (and did not want to test it).
