Rogues do indeed behave strangely during battle.
When they sustain damage, they change into a different type of unit, but the picture shown on the battlefield remains that of a rogue.
The display in the battle order at the bottom stays the same also till it is the turn of the rogue unit to act.
Then the real unit type picture appears.
But the picture on the battlefield remains.
