You are not bound to stay in the Iron Age. You can also research technologies from the next age, as soon as you reached the end of Iron Age.

No comment. I am in iron age and could not complete the mission. That is an error in the definition of missions

It is not. If you wish to complete future Rival Quests, you have to age up.
You are not bound to stay in the Iron Age. You can also research technologies from the next age, as soon as you reached the end of Iron Age.

It would seem the players who keep repeating that in Forge of Empires you can play your own way, do as much or as little as you like, are now incorrect. The advice to build a city and be strong enough to advance is also now not a viable option as the game wants players to age up before they are ready, to participate in parts of the game they may enjoy.

There has always been an alternative option for players who were not of age to open options such as the Antique Dealer. Why the change in META forcing players to age up possibly before they are ready? Why even have the ages lower than are required to participate in events?

There seems to be a fatal flaw in the logic.. "just age up" and you can complete the Rival.. once that becomes accepted, the next progression will be.. "oh" for the "Collect xx Special Goods" task.. just age up to at least Artic Future, and so on.. In a way, it should be similar to GE level 5.. best option is to build the new event buildings, and you'll be able to battle your way thru.. "or".. negotiate.. .. but,.. at least there's a way in your current age. There's many issues with Rival, but this one should be top of list..

Inno does everything right. The game is about researching through the ages. If you refuse and prefer to sit around for years in one of the first ages, it's your own fault that you can't experience everything. Nobody is forcing you to sit there.

I will speak in defense of the representatives of the Bronze and Iron Ages. The game has always been good because you could choose any era you liked and stay in it. And there were always alternatives to impossible tasks in all events. But recently, representatives of the "small nations" did not please the developers in some way, and their obvious undisguised persecution began. First, a failed attempt to accelerate the early epochs. Then the elimination of guild wars (the Bronze Age was left without fighting with all the ensuing consequences). Now the antique dealer has no alternative assignment. And the auto offset of the expedition in the Bronze Age has already been removed. Dear developers, please stop offending the "small nations"! They do not bother anyone, and forcing them to raise the era by force will not lead to anything anyway. I stand for equality.
