Why and when is the range of a archer changed from 6 to 5?

Attack from 11 to 10, too. It happened in the 0.32 update overnight (which claims to be 0.0, oops), and presumably to provide balance. Archers were really rather overpowered for their age.

Wow, I would have noticed until I did another attacking-neighbors run on my main.
Really, less range and less attack? I feel sorry for the newcomers now (at least my grenadiers will be less affected by them)

Senseless? Hardly. It's still a very good unit, I use it a lot. It just gets obsoleted by crossbows now, which is as it should be.
