Wondering about this for a few days now and thought I'd ask as I'm sure a few here have unlocked at least some of the Iron Age military buildings.
Do the Iron Age military buildings upgrade the Bronze Age buildings or are they entirely new buildings and either way do the Iron Age buildings allow you to build troops from an earlier Age as well as the more modern age troops. Such as the slinger building once advanced would it allow you to produce archers and slingers or just the later troop types.
I'm hoping its both types can be produced.
Looking along the research tree most of the military buildings have different names to the earlier age, which would imply that the buildings would be entirely different and therefore replacing the older structures and taking up much precious city space, but one or two are named the same which leads me to wonder the above questions.

costs quite a lot (around 2k gold if I can remember), takes 3x2 space and making 1 soldier takes 600 gold + labour , and 1 hour to build.
