The amount of goods it takes to set a siege increase as your territory increases. Maybe someone can post the exact current figures - I used to know, but then they raised the costs.
The defense-slot costs stay the same - I think they're free (the first one = your siege army)/5/15/15/30/30/60/90 - something like that.
