Forge of Empires on chat

Hello everybody,

Besides the Forge of Empires forum there is a chat channel on quakenet dedicated to Forge of Empires. This is a place where you can talk with other FoE-players about your empire or other day to day troubles. Currently the chat is not as lively as we would like, so I invite everyone to join us.


Naturally, we do like everyone to be happy and have set up a few rules.

1. Behave friendly and treat everyone with respect.
2. Don't use inappropriate language. (calling names, 18+ language etc.)
3. Don't spam, don't use CAPS and don't flood the channel.
4. Don't abuse the slapping or talking with the /me functions.
5. Don't advertise other games/channels/products. (Other than those from Innogames)
6. In-game violations, warnings, bans etc. will not be discussed on the chat. There is a game support for that.
7. Scripts and bots are not allowed.
8. Don't impersonate other players, developers or staff members.
9. You have to follow instructions given by chat moderators.

If you violate these rules, you will be warned/banned/kicked.
If you have a complaint, you can talk to a chat moderator (they have a @ before their names) via query.
As soon as there is a staff team, we'll give channel ownership to the team-members.

This is the international chat, and we want you to speak English, so that everyone can understand you.

Will there be an ig chat eventually do we know? Like the west, i hope so :D

Innogames never have an official IRC chat, its not their sort of thing really. But the chat is regulated and moderated so its perfectly fine and safe to use and is purely for Forge of Empires players.

Soulspark meant if it was moderated by Innogames moderators or not. To this point it is moderated by Jules and HeftySmurf. Both are not Forge of Empires moderators which makes the channel not official in the meaning Soulspark meant it.

That's not true :p
When I was in Polish Grepolis team I was in polish channel :p
#innogames or something.
But this channel is invite only for support.

I bet InnoGames prefer skype than irc.

Well Yes they have specific team chats but they are Private ;)
Public chats are never usually official

There is a chat for the-west for various countries, same thing for tribal wars and grepolis ;) All of these are moderated by Innogames staff ( forum/game mods for the respective game )

Yes but they are not official :p if you go in and insult the moderators it does not affect in-game

You are very wrong in that matter ;) If the actions are severe enough you are likely to suffer in-game or forum consequences as well.

Which reads:

The chatmoderators are allowed to act if one of these rules are broken. A kick from the channel or (in worse cases) a ban can be caused by (regular) breaches of the rules.
Be aware, in serious cases this can lead to a ban on your account (ingame)!

This is an unofficial chat and the current chatmoderators have nothing to do with the official ingame support team.
This might change, but chances are small that this will be sometime an official chat.

The discussion was if other game channels were official or not and if chat actions could have ingame consequences. This was not related to the current unofficial Forge of Empires channel.

Yes, but in this topic, this will get messed up and misunderstood. So it would be better to discuss this in the other games chat threads. : )
