My extended feedback of AF (with spoilers!)
I did make the promise to give extended feedback, for Inno for the
game age Arctic future. I hope my Englisch is good enough in order
to read my feedback and understand what I mean.
- Downsides
First of all the downsides of the AF age, than the upsides of it.
In part one I was realy dissepointed with the buildings, because
the game ages is called Arctic Future. The first tech. is Arctic
Harvest. On that way I expected already huge influence from the
Arctics. It wasn't the case. It was more like the Post Future age
than a new game age. I was dissepointed by that fact.
AF guildgoods doesn't have a great use. It's not a big deal for
me, but it's sad that I have built a GB with the idea to support
my guild with guildgoods. It's fair to said that the goods have
now a function, but still it's not that much.
The great person Princess Myciena was gone out of nothing.
After the advanture in the Future map she is gone, without
any word or explenation. She is simple replaced in a brutal
way by Tera hunt. After all the advantures, all the things
what did happens, she is been replaced brutal by the new
mission giver. In the begin her predecessor was gone with
a great storyline and she come to you and with here to your
side you face great many advantures. It's very sad that she
after a great introduction is been replaced so brutal. It's
still very sad.
* Not bad not good
The not bad, not good points are more the points how I
doesn't like much, but I'm fine with it.
In the first place the surrogate soldier. It's the underdog
of this game age and far from usefull. However it's okay,
because many another ages have units that I don't use.
After some updates this unit is become even more useless,
but it's fine for me.
The harbor costs. The costs of the harbor are high and the
output is lower than 1:1. Because you have to repair it from
time to time, what bring the costs up to a higher level. Even
with the high costs I'm fine with it. It's not great to spend
so much and got not so much back. Basicly it's not bad at
all, but not good to.
Diamond buildings in the TT. I don't like to have to spend
my fp's, goods and suplies/coins for stuff that cost diamonds,
but it's fine. Because the game age is in parts and diamond
buildings of part 1 are simple in the style of the future age.
So bonus diamondbuildings in the style of later parts are
nice. The downside that I have to pay stuff for something
that cost diamonds in one hand and in the another hand
that diamond buildings excist in the style of later parts
are a ballance and I'm fine with it.
The game age in parts. The downside of it is that the tech.
expend with small steps, the upside is that the TT expensions
are coming faster, with higher quality by the feedback of
us players.
+ Upsides
Now the upsides.
First of all is the battle field. That is even one of my favorite
battle fields, Modern age, Tommorrow and now the Arctic
battlefield is one my favorites.
The designers did make
a great job with lot of detaills. I love this battlefield, it's
give the cold feellings of the Arctics and is a great battlefield
for a battle.
The harbor, paradox right?
The costs are high and I'm fine with
that, but the harbor is also a upside for me. The special goods was
a great idea. You have to think how to get the most special goods out
of the harbor. Also the annimations are great. The complete team
did a great job. I can remember a suggestion for the GB Cape Caneveral
the suggestion was to give the GB annimations of a launch, but it
wasn't possible. Now the harbor have simelar annimations, it's not a
space ship, but a cargo ship that you sent and you can see that that
ship realy go, great job.
The tech.'s, the TT is filled with great high tech. stuff. Also with great
pictures and research for the Arctic. I love that and it's a great way to
go in this theme.
The theme, I like this theme for this game age. The solarpunk style
is been used again (for Future and Arctic) with a winter and Promethium
influence. It's a unique way to go.
The most of the units. The recon raiders are great Railguns hunters,
the Battle Fortress is a great unit to take lot of damage, good to be a
wall in the battle field that take lot of damage and deal damage, the
Dragondrone is a great unit to strike more targets in one shot, the
another units does seens amazing. The surrogate soldier is more the
underdog, but it's well designed.
The storryline is great. A race to the arctic in order to search for
Promethium, but it's strange that you already have a harbor that works
and that you have Promethium in stock. The thing that is strange in
this case is that in the storyline you doesn't find Promethium or
a way to hold it. Even with that paradox this storyline is a great
a new storlyline.
Can't wait to see/play the next chapter (Oceanic
Future) beyond this game age.
The last, but not least, lot of expensions and 4/5 good bonus. Both are
great.
