Champions

Hi,
I was wondering if you could explain why I didn’t get champions when collecting from Alcatraz.
I recently entered Space Age Jupiter Moon and placed (and upgraded) a champion’s retreat.
I expected to collect some troops from the retreat as this was easier then researching the other military buildings.
