You are right. That always confuses me, it is just expired

So Rival quest were changed for live.
Made 10x times worst and not tested in beta.

Great idea. Can I suggest to put anyting directly in live, always skipping beta?

It might have been moved to the last task of quesline D. In any case there was a golden upgrade in beta on the first rival, not a platinum one!

Let me speculate on unintended consequences of this change:
Poeple will be more reluctunt to age up.

And unless Rival changes are reverted before next Rival (the one while GbG is off) the damage will be long lasting.

Reason: buying extra GE moves needed to finish GE4 early is more expensive the more a player ages up. But Inno cannot increase the cost in lower ages without harming people who are aging up fast.

We cannot blame Innogames. Forum members (logically players 'we') requested game to be more challenging (to make things harder).

Also, downfall in what sense. The profit revenue still overflowing the maximum estimated bucket with this hardness in the game, if it's not a rumour.

Fingers crossed for this to happen at the live servers too. The rival dude at least gave us the golden upgrade eventually.

On a more positive note. The rival is actually surprisingly "easy" this time. Thankfully he doesn't require us to "break" traditional strategies for playing the event. On top of that multiple rival dude's quests simultaneously. The boosters greatly enhanced the gameplay.
On a more negative end. The swap from the main building's selection kit with a mediocre 2x2 building, for opening all chests at the end of any town, is extremely unfortunate. As it removed the ability to play more relaxed. Making it harder for those with demanding full time jobs. Who can not play on mobile
