@Juber said this:

On Wednesday, the 28th of August, around 10:30 CEST, BETA will be undergoing a technical maintenance. We expect a downtime of around 60 minutes. Although we aim to minimize the downtime, it is paramount that the maintenance is fully completed, so it might take longer than expected.
In addition, there will be no daily update on this day.

We apologize for any potential inconvenience and thank you for understanding.

Please advise if that's 10:30 AM or PM in the noted timezone.

Do u know what is CEST time?

Oui.... :D

It's missing an apostrophe, but...

En Francais - it's a contraction of CE (“it, this”) and EST (“is”), the third-person singular indicative present form of être (“to be”).

BIG BIG GRIN :D

People are not highly educated to the specifics of each world timezone, ie - they're 12 hour designs (AM/PM) or 24 hour (aka in the USA as military time).

Once we NOW know that CEST bases their time on a 24 hour clock, AM/PM designations aren't required... Thank ALL you fellow players for enlightening us.

HOWEVER, Inno's player community is GLOBAL. It's a friendly thing to communicate BROADLY to enable people to understand when something as important as a 1 hour "downtime" is going to happen - and to offer that information up in 1 of 2 ways:

1) Remind people that CEST uses a 24 hour clock, so 10:30 needs no qualification - it's always AM.

2) Dual post it in both styles:
a) 12 hour format: 10:30 and ADD the AM so no confusion exists or takes time to address
b) 24 hour format: 10:30 (where AM is moot).

Here's how I would have written it for crystal clarity to ALL (for a few more words...)

On Wednesday, the 28th of August, around 10:30 CEST (aka 10:30AM server time)

As you wrote FoE's player comunity is global. The glob uses 24 hour notation with some small excetion: UK, USA, etc.

Yeah, and periods (dot, or . . .) separate power of 10 in Europe, and commas in the US. --> 1.000.000 and 1,000,000
Yeah, and dates in Europe are DD - MM - YYYY, and in the US are MM - DD - YYYY.
Yeah, and don't get me started on metric measurements and Imperial.

My bottom line point: It's important and a player-friendly thing, to communicate BROADLY

The comma/dot thing is incorrect. Different European countries have different standard for that.

They did comunicate broadly, they gave you the time and the reference used: CEST!
You not knowing what it means is no escuse.
