Discussion The big question for Innogames: anything new?

What do I mean with "new"? It is just simple, something that we have never seen before. Examples:

- Space ages + colonies (no, I am not talking about each space age but about ages related to other planers)
- Chain buildins like terracotta vineyard
- Settlements (not about each settlement but as a feature)
- GbG. before GbG, we never thought about a new feature like this one.

I am 6 years old in FoE and today I do not see that Innogames will put something totally new or an overhaul/rework of an already implemented feature like ages to give us hype and the excitement of play FoE as if it was our best online game to play:

- fellowship event is just a reskin of spring event. 10th anniversary event is 1 time event and it is not supposed to return and it does not count
- Space ages, each one, are just a reskin of previous one, being mars the first one. the only thing what changes are the design of buildings colonies and music but that is not enough to be considered as something totally incredible as it was GbG for example ( supposing that GbG was amazing for you as a new feature)
- The design of event buildings are all from old ages. what about futuristic ages? what about players who love futuristic designs? why not start making event buildings which have a change of design after X amount of ages like the tavern?
- theme of events. summer event = pirates - soccer event = ancient rome - arhcaeology event = world fair - halloween event = spooky fair, etc.

and the list could have a lot more if I include great buildings and the old design of some of them (truce tower is just beautiful), features inside gbg, the same for expedition and the new 5 level I am pretty sure it will be just a reskin of previous levels, etc.

So, anything new, Innogames? specially for ages? if you don't have one for ages, let me give you one:

Human federation age (or something similar)
after X amount of years, Colonies in previous ages are now independent. people born in those colonies have a high sense of "I am not from earth, I was born here, I live here, I don't have to follow orders from earth or send resources to earth" and they start seeing earth as an enemy. You have the mission to unify those colonies or remember them which planet rules here. In order to achieve that you can choose 2 ways, war or pacifism.

This age is divided in 5 parts, 1 for each colony: mars, asteroid belt, venus, jupiter and titan(the next age which should be released this 2023).

At the begining of this new age, the "spaceship" does not send you to a colony but to an isometric view of the eart, the moon and a little of "space" in the screen of your pc/cellphone/tablet. near the earth you can see a giant futuristic space station which is your center of operations. Tap it to open a window where you can see an image showing the inside of the space station and there you can select 2 "rooms" or +. one of the rooms is the investigation room where you can open the new tech tree and see what do you need to investigate the new technologies. the other room is were you take missions (like the history quests when you move to a new age/era) There you can receive your first history quest which tells you the situation between the earth and mars and it could ask you to send a spaceship with an ambassador to mars. In order to send the ship, you must go to another room, the takeoff port where you can send your first ship to a planet, in this case, mars. the travel could take for example 24 hours.

When the ambassador arrives, you can sellect mars to see a map of mars and then you could read something like a "visual novel" between the ambassador and the leader of mars and at the end of the dialog, the ambassador returns. The ship with the ambassador must travel another 24 hours, and after his/her returns you now have 2 options. the ambassador tells you that leader of mars asks you for resourses and investigate X technology if you want to be pacifist or you can not hear the petition and pick the path of war. also there is another problem. the time of each travel is a lot! open tech tree to pick between 2 technologies, one follows the path of war, the other the path of pacifism.

go to the takeoff port and there you can also open a second tech tree, one that helps you to create better mottors and also new types of ships or improvements for those ships!

after your first investigations, you can send war starships or cargo starships to mars. the time could take you now, for example 22 hours. if you have selected the path of war, after 22 hours you must do a fight, in the other case, a negotiation. If you succeed, you receive a refined version of mars ore and doing that is the only way to get them for now. you can see another scene like a visual novel between the leader of mars and the captain of the main starship you have sent which allows you to follow the story created by FoE devs/Innogames about the "unification" of the earth and mars. The number of travels could be the same as the number of investigations and each negotation or fight done, the difficulty of it increases (a lot maybe?) also, the time of travel is reduced and the most important part about your options picked. The difficult of negotiation or fighting for next parts will be increased too! but also allows you in a future being able to pick between 2 alien civilzations as a new age if FoE wants to add alien civilzations or could unlock you a 2nd great building according to your selected options

this first part of this new age could last 1 or 2 months before the release of the 2nd part with the unification of asteroid belt colonies and earth. something like in AFuture or Ofuture. they were divided by parts.

The new GB could be the "stargate" also included as a techonology. travel fast to mars is one thing, travel fast to venus or jupiter for example is another! and being able to "teleport" is important. this new GB could have a new skill which gives you at level 80 a 50% chance to have an extra turn of attack of a military unit. If you attack and this bonus activate, the unit can be instantly moved again and attack again but with the total damage of the 2nd attack will be reduced by 2 or 3. As a secondary skill, at level 80, you have a 50% chance to receive back all the resources spent during a negotiation but divided by 2 or 3.

Also with this new age, we could unlock a new feature (available to almost all ages?) Generals. one special unit which uses a special space, a 9th square during fights. those generals can help you by giving you new bonuses during fight (or negotiation). Each general has his/her own tier grade and you can level them up by spending Forge points on them as if they were great buildings. that means they can be put in chats to allow your friends, neighbors and guild members help you to level them up.

If I, a single person, was able to create this in a couple of hours (because I only thought about this idea for 2 hours aprox.) why Innogames can't do something similar to change ages? or change other features which are extremely repetitive like events? events are all the same year after year after year :/

Summer event used to rotate summery themes / cultures from warm countries/regions each year, before they settled down with pirates. I can't recall the exact order and all themes but I think it was like this:
Indian (palace set), Arabic (bazar), pacific(witch doctor?), Caribbean(beach bar), etc
I forgot some main rewards though, it's been a while since they've lost creativity with the summer event. Though they could've add a few more I think and rotate annually through them. Should feel refreshing each year a different theme.

The federation idea sounds a lot like Elvenar but reskinned and molten into space themes. Though they can definitely find some ways to spicing up colonies.
For example after the federation had been established it had been agreed upon for each new addition to human settlements a governor should be selected and evolved from the beginning. Having for example various governors to chose from with each their own unique perks, benefits and disadvantages. While each new colony is facing unique benefits and challenges too. Like different needs and wants. For example a more ruthless governor will find it harder to establish a well functioning colony, but has a number of daring tricks to get the job done more effectively. In particular on the battlefield. While another governor more micromanaging governor finds it easier to rapidly develop the colony, struggles in combat. Giving your army some disadvantages to overcome. For example additional limitations. Like a reduced maximum of units per battle available.
Available governors may depending on your choices made while setting up the federation. As it'll be structured depending on how you've achieved it. Full scale war will give more war minded governors, pacifistically established federations will more likely bring governors that prioritise development. A federation build by both, colonies forced back in line and peacefully solutions may find itself more in the middle. Believing in both military solutions and economical once.

They have put in new features from time to time, but it's getting to the point where many of the main features are just chores to do. Hopefully GE5 will bring some life back to that one. Maybe they'll implement the changes being tested for GBG someday, and that would be a decent start. The best feature (GvG) hasn't been tweaked since it came out. Yes, I realize that GBG was intended as a replacement for GVG, but GBG is checkers to GVG's chess. As I watch GVG being slowly choked to death by bots, I wonder how much longer I can stand playing. Most people in the game today don't even have access to GvG because inno says it's not possible to build GVG for mobile. PVP is an abject failure not worth discussing.

Most events badly need updated, and I would personally like to see the chance events like summer and winter die a horrible death, but they make money for inno, so I wouldn't look for it.

Thank you for your comment and for take it seriously. I really like your idea and if you and me were able to think about how a new age could be, I am sure Innogames can do the same and not just copy and paste and only change the design of previou era and make us believe they did a new age.

My opinion about those events is the same XD and about pvp in foe.. iugh, there is no value on each player, only in those who can build thousands of siege camp and has a lot of attack. not like in other mobile games where a player can be a damage dealer, a tank or defensive player, a support, etc. and in FoE, players with a lot of blue attack and defens could be used to increase the attack and defense of units that enemies must defeat in GbG for example, or a support could be a player who has certain perks which help to decrease the amount of resources to build things in GbG or in other FoE features. I always will mention the game "underworld empire" which has an accelent "GvG" system where each player can be very important, even if you are support type player.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm sure Inno could do that but lacks the (financial) motive to do so. Even though I think they could introduce FoE+ convince features. Among cash and diamond governors and additional ultimate options to benefit such more complex strategical colonies.
In addition of the colony overhaul they could introduce specialisations: military, industrial and tourism. Military obviously improved the military capabilities of an colony and may offer an permanent special building for the main city once aging up. Similar to settlements. Benefitting the army. Industrial could benefit goods productivity. In the end assisting traders. Though military more reliant on converted industrial machines and merchants. Both crafty but less combat suitable then military specialists. The tourism could sacrificing both in favour of an more political advantage but reliant on private "security" forces. Which are less heavily armed and less well trained for large scale armed conflict, may receive some assistance from allies. Like stronger (temporary) reinforcements while dealing with military encounters. With an building for the main city permanently benefiting negotiations with limited daily charges.
