Feedback Tenth Anniversary Event

that is the devil InnoGames created

players always expect that new buildings are better than older ones

We can argue whether buildings should be better-and-better, but...at least make it as good as previous buildings. And don't forget, this is the event for the 10th anniversary of the game, which is another reason why the main building should be a very decent one, no?

we can argue that InnoGames think this building is better
because they added a new bonus (random fragments) to it
o_O

and we all know they are not playing their own game :p

I still see the stage of ages as the real birthday present and the main star of the event,

also getting all those old portraits...
Agree - Stage of Ages is more for the experienced players and the Golden Orrery more for beginners and even era rushers. Thus everyone should be happy :) The Grand King and Queen Statues are unfortunately still too hard to achieve - I would have liked to placce them into my city (those 2 Grand Kings are looking a bit strange though).
I admit they cannot serve everyone's needs and wishes and I also admit, I too had expected something very special, but what is special for the ones may be crap for others. Not an easy task for developers.
They could have made the last level of the Orrery something to chose between a combat and a non-combat version, as they did with several buildings before with one common chance for diamonds (like the Crow's Nest) - but they didn't. Anyway it's no the last event and 11th anniversary still can be more magic

So you want to tell me you only have a mobile iOS device available to you?
Just play the event on Browser if you are so obsessed with the surprise chest...
And if he is, than what advice would you give to him...? I am oh so much curious, because, you know, it's modern world and some of us do not use PCs or even laptops... Is there any advice for us, poor souls...? Just don't tell me to install beta app, I have only one device and I choose to play my regular server much more.

You can play on the regular servers with the beta app...

In the live server I am playing in (and up to the waiting date), I got three Stage of Ages, but not enough upgrades for a fully upgraded Orrery. I just came back late in beta so I missed the event by many days so didn't get much. However, the event blows on live since most of my rolls were 1s, 2s, and 3s. I gotten like 2 rolls of 6, 4 rolls of 5, and 3 rolls of 4. I always roll on 6 for the golden die. Clearly their RNG really stinks.

Would I be participating on this event for future years? Probably not since I really don't like games of chance (and malice that was put into any kind of chance game). I'd probably do it for the grand prize of that day if it tickles my fancy, but not for the main building, and not for spending since Inno gives us nothing to spend on (broken game, balancing issues, etc.).

I've gotten plenty of 4-6's on both the live worlds I'm playing on, so I don't think malice has anything to do with it. You've simply been unluckier than some others, which is the textbook definition of random. Does suck to be on that end of the spectrum though.

OK tried clearing cache. Still get 'internal error' when trying to update to the avatar of the archaeologist to my profile.

Decant event in concept at live server but too heavily luck dependent. At least the up most transparency from Inno so far; lithely rolling dices.
The increase of event currency, as @MooingCat analysis predicted made the event more achievable. Though I had to deploy somewhat low level strategy by aiming with the golden dice on the daily golden dice for some time. Not sure if I would've gotten where I got without, doubtful.

The stage of ages is an overall attractive and even an good att% event building with some decent productions to sweeting it further. Though a bit of a missed chance to giving it "evolving" alternative skins depending on you're age. Similarly to how the board's wallpaper in the event "evolves" through different "ages." If that gimmick was implemented it would've been an truly one of a kind building.
The "grand" building feels rather gimmicky. As it's daily free casino slot machine production requires a multitude of successfully tries to get the kits. The 30 min speed up kits are situationally decent for when you like to dedicate you're city with an very limited number of production buildings for events. The 20% att consumable is okay-ish but situationally. The 2x 1-up kit fragments don't compensate the risks for the other productions that much but can bump up 1-up kits production a bit. Overall the "grand" building is very decent for early stages of the game where space is something limited and you're acces to the items also on the limited end. The issue is rather the strong favouring of the 30 min production over the generally more useful kits it may occasionally produces.
I'll still gonna build it as I can swap a less useful event building with it. The productions will be somewhat useful-ish to use occasionally or the AD to trading it in for something better once something good presents itself once in a blue moon. The att def% is also a nice bonus and more useful to me then what the event building offers me that I like to swap out. Can't really see many constricting this "grand" building or seeking after that much.

I was never a fan of the stage of ages, don't see the appeal. It's FP/square = 1/4 and %/tile = 1 which is pretty terrible compared to other buildings. The only thing it's good for is replacing soks which most people at this point shouldn't have anymore anyway.

Its % / tile isn't awful in space ages: about 74% of the best option if attack is all you care about (which is now winner's plaza lv 2).

The FP/tile is however awful yes - you just have to take that as gravy if you're chasing attack.

Its main appeal though is that as a single level 4x4 special it can get a bunch of attack with not so many special wins. I built 10 of them in my newish industrial city - would build more if i won them, but wasn't going to break out the diamonds to chase em. 40 FP/day & 100% attack boost from one event's specials is pretty good on a new world. They're not permanent fixtures there by any means - but they're great stopgaps; will probably be around for a year+ at least before I pack the city with better stuff.
