What do you think? Spearfighter or Slinger are better?

First two units available in the game, let's talk about them :)

My friend you seek the simple answer of witch is more powerful but the truth is that both together create and even more powerful force

-its better 2 use the in combination, range/melee. i like 2 use 6 spearfighters and 2 slingers its a good mix

Well, I say slinger since they can kill the spearfighters before they even reach them.

I'm totally agree. YOu will never see army in real world that consists of only tanks or only snipers etc. Mix is always better

slingers have a greater range of attack so they are better.

Slingers are better due to their greater range, but it doesn't help when they walk up to a unit to attack it even though the unit is in their range. :(

slingers have no defence and deals same damage...
i would say spears are better.. but it is useful to have both ranged and melee..
i would not fight with only ranged anyway..

I use 5 spear, 3 slinger at the moment.

Cavalry doesn't seem worth getting.

In the beginning spears are beter in my opinion. I fought a long time with just spears. But later you just need slingers because of their bonus against heavy melee infantry. :)

Definitely... I can defeat an equal number of slingers with spears, but also vice versa. I think spears are better because you don't have to worry about any enemies getting too close. However, a mix is most definitely best.

2 spears, 6 slingers --- park the spears on tree grids in front of the slingers. That's brutal. ;)

Well Yal, the discussion was about spearfighters and slingers from the early stages of the Bronze Age. Ballistae are available at the last stages of the Iron Age. If you really want to discuss things in such a fashion, we would need to change out the troops altogether to give it a reasoned comparative.

Voted I don't know, despite teh fact I have not built a single not-Spearfighter unit until that province with 2 ballistas.
