I try to understand is the expectations. In regards of ages. In regards of expecting to revisit historical ages in more depth.
Not in more depth perse. Just 'with a twist'.
For instance; travelling back to the roman empire, but through some interference we change the course of history and so we get a fictionalized version of what the roman empire could be - this interference could mean many different things. From introducing some modern tech into this old civilization (and creating a new civilization with some roman influences, but still with some futuristic features), to changing the course of history (and maybe creating a new civilization because of it).

Heck, we could even have a 'storyline' where our advanced civilization collapses (can be due to a plethora of reasons) and we revert back to starting anew (not literally, of course. Just in the sense of new ages). Now, these new ages would be made up of course, but they could perhaps have some influences from actual history.

My point is: I am sick of space. It's boring. It's all the same. I don't like it.
I want to be back on earth with something interesting.

Tbh I think what you're wishing for isn't working too well in Forge's framework. However Inno or another game company could ofc run with that scenario. Like alternative history. The only way I see this working is with a settlement. In which each next run is a different stage of the by you described scenario. As a fantasy series of ages I think it wouldn't work too well.
The good thing is. If you're in a top GbG guild it's possible to construct a roadless, fully functional historical city. Somewhat more powerful than some event cities.
Personally I find it better if Inno starts to wrapping things up. Developing the final age with a worthy endgame feature.

My fear with something like that is that they'd end with a space age and we're going to be stuck in that age with an aesthetic I don't like.
Ah well... If such a thing would happen; it'd be time for me to move on. Nothing lasts forever.

Just in case anyone at Inno reads this: I'd be willing to pay for the ability to change the look of my City Hall to one of the past ages.

Aesthetically only the town hall is affected but who knows? Perhaps the feature offers the ability to change the townhall. Either way aesthetically ages have very little impact compared to events. Like I said players part of a strong guild can practically making a functional roadless historical town, potentially stronger than most event towns

Only true when you just play for 'more power'.
Ages add a range of buildings in a certain theme that you can utilize much more when your aim is to make a nice looking city (that actually looks like a city and not rows upon rows of mismatched stuff) within that theme. Events are awesome, but the types of buildings you get are usually very limited in scope.

Im assuming this era will come out next year. I think inno has put too much on their plates this year with all these updates and more to come yet.

Dlatego prosimy o konkrety.
Translate: Dear CM @Juber, isn't it time to tell players about IG's plans for the new era? After all, many of us play precisely because we can move on to new eras. Events aimed at extracting real money from players, based on the same mechanics, are slowly becoming boring. That's why we're asking for specifics.

I have seen something that can be nothing or maybe something important.
In the technology tree, the first technology of SASH its "Titan goods synthesizin...". It appears with one city expansion and ?. Maybe this means that SASH wont have colony, because the first technology of every SA era isnt the synthesizers of the SA before. Its always the first building of the colony, and the name its refereed to the enviroment of the colony in the planet.
Its just a "maybe"...

It's standard. Whenever we have been waiting for a new era they always put the same research, the synthesizers of the previous era and as a reward an expansion. With no design or name or anything from the new era buildings, it's the only "standard" thing they can put in:D
