Maybe a counterpart to the recent addition of the tactical tower that gives defense for the attacker?

While that'd make the tactician's tower less objectionable if true, I still think we'd be better off with neither. I guess inno needed to cross another one of those 'everyone's asking for it' lines to bump sales again though.

a tower that boost attacking def% is something that would be very useful indeed i bet it will be 1% for level 1 and 2% for level 2 though, seeing as attack bonuses on small buildings are never (much) higher than that

I mean, there is a shield on it, and considering we already have a city defense 1x1...
