I did notice that the key was available right away so it looks like a cosmetic issue

I used all my selection - cleared more than 2 full boards, All that was showing was the prize given ( replacing the present icon). After I used all my attempts, I started spending matches. After clearing the christmas tree, all the prizes I had gotten for this round of selections popped up one after another.
