quest 25: research technology or donate goods to guild treasury

research is not autocompleted when reached the end of the tech tree

expected behavior: auto complete the research part (and with that the complete quest)

For the carnival event :

This was likely because VF3 content had been released on the back end even though it wasn't activated in the game yet.

Maybe "Spacefaring" content had been released on the back end?

The quest would autocomplete if you have unlocked all non-premium technologies (so for example 'Multistory Houses' is not needed). If you have locked dead-ends on the tech tree then it will not autocomplete. Spacefaring is not an available technology so it's not taken into account.

why the change from "reached the end of the tech tree" to "must have researched everything" to autocomplete ?

today on live worlds
sucks to donate 800 goods because already reached end of tech tree
(and sure not wasting goods and FP on an useless dead end research)

Because systems change. The auto-completing of quests works only when you're unable to complete the condition (example for campaign map related conditions only when you don't have any campaign map provinces available), but because of various reasons this one did not quite work the same in the past. Now (for some months actually) it does. It's aligned to the behavior in this area and made less error prone.
