A lot of "timed" items will help. I will give anyone that. However, this "test" was with buildings I can "get" on my own without being forced to drop in other buildings just to try and get through QI and its inane of changes. Last incursion had me drop in 8 x Lilac Garden IIs which cost me about 64 squares for 10 days. I made it to level 9 before being shut out at level 10.

I was going to test for level 7 tonight, but I had to stay back at work to handle some stuff that needs to be handled to which it got handled.

But hey, I wasn't stopping all the kiddies with all their shiny toys. Just don't drag the rest of us with this nonsense that Inno had let loose upon us.

Without temporary building you can reach 100% A/D blue and red with oversea settlements (not the ascendant version*, just the max level version).
If you can finish GE5 every week which shouldn't be that difficult if you have all the oversea settlement main building at max level actually built, then you get 150% A/D with a "permanent" temporary building: Forgotten Temple.
Completing the events should get a player a few more bonuses, but not all are already available on live (example Phantom Abandoned Asylumn will require still about 3 weeks to get, probably).

I've change my qi settlement development plan and now it seems I can auto-fight till level 7 included, with a 2-3 losses on every fight against one of the enemies (3 fast+3 light & 4 ballista). I do have 190/160 A/D red including 10% from decoration.

*with ascendant version the max for oversea settelment is 150% A/D. But getting enough kit to keep it permanent is difficult, maybe impossible.
I'm currently testing how easy it is to finish in gold after reaching the lowest time available (maximum good multiplier). It seems the last, many month old, update made finishing on time impossible in at least one settlement (without diamonds). But that is a discussion for another thread.
Finishing on time means a player can collect 2 ascendant kit for each run (not worth it in my opinion).

What "no more 450 shards?". The 500 initial shards is only as championship start, this has not changed. You are supposed to obtain whatever additional shard you need during an incursion. If you can't play an incursion don't spend shards on it, and spend when you can play. If you can play only a little maybe spend less.
Or are you writing about something else?
(If you are referring to the old milestones that with gold pass gave a total of 450 shards, you still get 100, so your sentence is incorrect).

QI Summer Epic 2024 selection kit is one of the few thing that got correct. We now get 400 frag. in the free pass (instead of 200 after page 13 in browser). And the current fragment are compatible with the previous one (which make the "Summer" in the name even more nonsense).

I agree with you on the no more pass! Well done, Inno.

My goal is simple, go for 400 advances per season which equals 600 shards and I can build my city like I usually do. I am not counting the PASS shards.. I am active thru L6, able to battle, then full donor mode. Last season, I screwed up my conversion to Blue AD by about 60% or so. I was at 500% blue AD for L12, had plenty of resources. I made 384 advances last season. I should hit 400 this season. I am working at the transition from donor to L11/12 attacker. Now, if they start screwing with the map, I will get mad. So, I am planning on starting with the same blue node for L10/11/12. I am not building anything at this time as far as AD, like monuments, I will wait. With this current set up, I may be able to catch end of L10 then L11, I don't know for sure.

Can I attack more, build differently in beta? I am sure I can but this change is forcing it with the daily level increase and I am not doing these manual battles for 11 days. I prefer the donor route, day or 2 off (L10-11), finish with a bang (L12).

On live, I am in a smaller, less aggressive guild so I can see doing a bit different there. I started with 2 expansions instead of 3, saving the 200 shards because I will not be hitting 400 advances. Probably, my guess, those PASS shards will come in handy over the course of a championship series. I can probably get thru L6 (5 days 16 hours), so 200-250 advances, means I can get 300 shards via rewards and be self sustaining. then I will look to grow the city based AD, get L7 advances done, then L8. going top L9 is a significant jump in AD, 60% increase so I can see that being a no-go for a long time. If I can get to 500% AD on the last day, then those advance will be gravy.

Sure, settlement buildings will help but they take a long time. In a year I can do 2 for sure, working on Poly right now because it is easier with the no roads. I will probably do Japan next, then Yggy.

All of this timed, ascended stuff, just extras additional to the base.

I'm not following your math. 400 advances = 4,000 points on the progress line, which only gets you 300 shards. Where are the additional 300 shards coming from? Node battle/donation rewards?

The reason I don't count the PASS shards, they are not handed out in any consistent basis, we have that gap too, 4750 to 8250, so I will just consider them extra, for now. They also snuck in a mass aid at 9250, it could have been back to back with the other 100 shards at 9500...they do it later on, 13250 then 13500. Now of course they help but I need to see how I can advance on a consistent basis before I factor them into my planning.

I only got to stop at level 7 with what I have. I wasn't going to bother with the rest of the maps as I know how the rest had gone in the last incursion.

I didn't factor any time limited buildings (FT, TG, 10-day Trios, Carriage, Sty, etc.) nor any settlement buildings in the mix. I do not want to be forced. I want to go at my pace and see where it gets me.

Still, if they didn't put in the Mad Hatter Tea Party Speed Date mechanic in QI of auto changing of levels, I would probably use this time to build some decorations so I can take on level 8, and possibly 9 before the incursion is over. Yes, I mean the way it was before.

I still get my 1,000 points to open my two chests... and am sitting on 1200 shards (thanks to the random pickings of 25 shards, you cheap asses!!!). I only need 300 more to have a moment at the final incursion to open all chests without having to spend (oh, did I tell you that since you took out the good stuff we want your silver and gold passes are worthless to those who haven't been high or morbidly stupid, so that is why I didn't spend).

I was really angry about this change when tournament 4 started on Beta but if you use goods for expansions, it's not impossible,
I am now in the second round, level X.

I could still fight in VIII.
I have 10 extensions
6 goat farms and 1 under construction
10 Villas and 2 under construction
5 triumphal
1 Ballister and an archer
1 Goodsbuilding
85 Quantum Fragments, that's not much

I should probably have dropped the last 1 Goat Farm and Villas and built decorations
 
For milestones we get 1k fragments for Neo colossus kit and we need 1k to complete a kit… Could’ve been just a kit instead of 1k/1k fragments of the kit. Rewards not improving by level is even weirder. Doesn’t rewards us to overcome the effort to handle higher levels. In more simpler words: the effort / reward ratio has been removed. Not even the most noob indie amateur developer I’ve seen made that mistake. Games even developed by such inexperienced devs have effort / reward ratios. Maybe off at times either in too rewarding or too little but at least it is present. Guess either big corners are cut or the rumoured intern is actually real.
Really strange developments. Really hope they won’t repeat that mistake. Particularly for the GE replacement. Not really interested in a sterilised guild feature. Where no matter how far you get, the rewards remain the same. Goes also for GbG. When they were mentioning intentions to streamline everything I thought they meant making the development proces more efficient, not coming up with 1-3 loot boxes and implementing them throughout the entire level based feature regardless of difficulty level.

Welcome to the world that is Inno: A rich greedy nooblet that hands out sub-par rewards while demanding we take on higher difficulty for them.

I had stopped buying the gold pass for the reason they took out the stuff we wanted and replaced it will just junk that we would have gotten when playing through QI. I find that 1k fragments is absurd as a kit would have been sufficient (ohhh goodie, 1k frags, okay kid, hit the assemble button, poof, 1 kit).

For this run, I had stopped at level 7 for fighting. Switched to goods production, so missed out on 8 for those goods donations. Managed to get donations for the first goods node in 9, but got tired of waiting for the second goods donation to open up. 10, I don't think my guild will make it until the end. 11 might be a few done. 12, I don't think anyone will be bothering with that in its shortest time span.

So many wasted nodes with this daily changing of levels (MHTP/SD) mechanic, hence why it's a problem with me.

So, now I am just playing Farmville in my QI settlement until the end.

The reward do impreove with level, but you need to pay attention to what is changing.
The reward selection doesn't change.
The reward amount of the first 3 reward change every level: the dirst 2 are the buidling that depend on your selected incursion type and the third is neo colossus selection kit.
The silver and golden upgrad change amount every 4 or 5 level. There is actually an actual bigger improvement for node type from normal to advance in the same level.
The quantum shard reward doesn't change.
The last 4 reward change like silver and golden upgrade: quantum medals, fp, q.coin, and q.supplies.

That's a huge amount of coins and supplies you are generating! But then again, few players have the same amount of QI-boosting buildings as you. Which means you can afford to focus on resources.

I have to be more modest and am forced to build decorations. Currently at 48 monuments and I can still fight on lvl X.

Main advantage for a tailor is at the start. You can afford 1 tailor immediately. Where you have to make some coins and supplies for the goat farm. The space savings of a tailor vs 2 butchers is sufficient that i think 1 tailor out of the gate is worthwhile. And just keep it until you really need the space back.

want to say thank you. inno. for messing up QI ,took me a bit to get my team to work on it. they liked the challange an we beat the boss ,all the way to lvl7 .
now !!!!! we still giving it all we got but no one is happy .thank you. take a bow .it wont be mandory to play any more ,an i can already see ge an gbg will be next ,thanks a lot .why i bothered to post i dont know !!!
 
The rework is TERRIBLE.

but I have neither the desire nor the energy to write it. Especially when I know that nobody cares about my opinion anyway, especially not the developers.
If a developer contacts me, I'm willing to pass on my feedbacks. But I'm not going to spend hours typing it out in English for no one to read.

Anyway, it's absolutely horrible where the game has gotten to. What with everything being destroyed, shut down. I had to laugh when I saw how the public vote on the changes went. First you let people vote on what they want and then for every change you write that you won't do it because it's too complicated. What kind of totally stupid game code do you have? My husband is a game developer and sometimes Forge totally makes him nuts. Do you have some junior guys with no experience working for you? Has a designer ever played this game?

A thousand and one UX bull****, backlogs, missing balance. Every server the same instead of making different servers. E.g. no great buildings, different guild numbers, you can come up with a million changes that create new Forge for old players!!!!

Also The word "balance" is probably dirty to you.
Great buildings outdated, new players don't even need to build them, every event will outdo them. Quests outdated. Technology reward outdated and ridiculous. Buildings from "colonial age" completely useless (houses, cultural buildings). No one need it anymore. Only top giga guilds and crazy nolife players are constantly on hand. Just look at stupid invasion upgrades. GVG you have destroyed. GB is still being spun by the same people.

I am really sad about direction of this game. Sad and resigned.
