Reason
The feature of fast scrolling to reach old messages is hard to use and doesn't really save time comparing it to how it was before. Instead of scrolling up to load messages, we have to scroll down to "unload" them
Details
Make scrolling up past the 20 first messages of a thread load messages at a rate of ~20 messages per second until you react and scroll back down, giving enough reaction time to stop loading more messages.
Balance
Doesn't need
Abuse Prevention
Can't be abused
Summary
Decrease the load rate to ~20 messages per second to save time scrolling through threads
Have you looked to see if this has already been suggested?
Yes, it was reported by @King Cruzer the Great as an issue, but I consider it a (deficient) feature instead of an issue
In the last patch, there have been some changes to the message center on mobile. One of them was speeding up the load of older messages,

Before: Scrolling up past the 20 first messages of a thread would load 20 more messages. If you wanted to find an old message, it would took you long before you could load all the messages needed.

Current: Scrolling up past the 20 first messages of a thread rapidly loads messages at a rate of ~100 messages per second until you react and scroll back down. If you want to find a recent message, it takes you long before you have scrolled down all the messages you have unnecessarily loaded.

Proposal: Leave it how it is, but decreasing the load rate to ~20 messages per second, giving enough reaction time to stop loading more messages.
