We seem to have a brand new "Pirate" event, with some very interesting assets!

Perhaps this will replace the Summer event?

We have a calendar ... yay!
This does look like a fancy version of the archaeology/halloween/winter calendar, though might be a more involved part of the mechanics of the event rather than a secondary thing?

This old "legend" placeholder has now been removed, will probably be updated soon, but here's the old version. The wallpaper has been replaced as well, I've included the new one further down, but I like the look of the old one so wanted to have this here as well

I mean, looks like we're getting the Elves' Workshop but as pirates. I'm just really confused on that legend. I think it's:

Spin the Wheel | Have an unopened box? | Open the Box
Ouroboros??? | You need to collect key parts
Take 4 key parts | Assemble one key
Take Key | Open a box | Now the box has been opened with the key?
Take an opened box | If you have all of them | You get the final prize

If that's the case though, interesting that the calendar key pieces are for only 4 days instead of the usual 5. Also, I think they're putting this event earlier because it came out really late last time, basically in September on live servers.

If this will replace the summer event, then I will definitely miss that wheel shared with my neighbours. Seems like the days where I could get around 40 pirate hideout kits with less than 20k diamonds are forever gone. The events are getting harder and harder.

Archaeology and summer are some of my favorites (because I love the themes).
I wish they'd get rid of halloween, christmas, st patricks and/or fall events instead.
Oh and forge bowl and soccer are basically the exact same event, so one of those can go as well.

As you can read in the code, this is pirate event. Forget archeology and soccer. Inno told it, they need more time to make adjust in GBG and other things. That means, less events, more time to rest between events, and more new stuff this year.
This spoilers can be a signal that we will have anniversary event and pirate event following, but after them, maybe we will have something new. Cause the event that follows pirate event is autumn event.
So, in my opinion, on 7/2 we will have the new expedition. After 2 or 3 weeks, we will have anniversary event, followed by pirate event. In may, we will have new stuff. New spoilers will say what will be.
Another option is that they make anniversary event longer than a month, and pirate too...

Can I just say how awesome the Piggy Bank screen looks if you put all the pieces together? I'm really enjoying the new art for this event!

Also, per @lizNdarcy it seems likely to me that they might combine Summer and Archaeology. It would sort of fit with a pirate theme to do digging for treasure, and it makes sense with the calendar key. It wouldn't make much sense to me to have the calendar key on the wheel, that could get really frustrating.

It already pretty much was a pirate event anyway. Maybe they got enough complaints about the wheel and decided to update the minigame.

So I was bored and looking through this, and it seems they've hidden text or something similar on the calendar legend. It's hard to see, but there are solid colored bars right below each row of icons, with the occasional bits of letters peaking out (the black dots underneath the bars) It's just a mockup though and will most likely be changed; it doesn't really fit the art style yet. But at the very least, we won't be left with just pictures to figure it out.


Also, it looks like the calendar is made up of buttons (?) as the stones when laid out form something like below. A stone that hasn't unlocked yet is flush with the calendar surface, and the ones that have been unlocked are higher up like an unpressed button. When claimed they get pushed all the way down, past flush. And of course if you got the daily key that's marked. Overall I really like how this looks instead of the usual flat calendar, and it also makes a little bit more sense per the calendar legend.

Strangely B & C are not included (yet), but the total number seems to be 6 buildings, suggesting another set or a chain.
