Marquis
- Reason
- The current favourite system allows players to mark frequently used items so they appear at the top of the inventory. However, this marking is lost once an item is fully consumed. When the same item is obtained again later, it is no longer marked as a favourite.
This creates unnecessary repetition and reduces the usefulness of the favourite system, especially for players who consistently use the same items.
Making favourite markings persistent would significantly improve usability and reduce repetitive actions.
- Details
- • Favourite marking should be tied to the item type, not the individual instance of the item.
• Once a player marks an item as favourite, this preference is saved permanently.
• When the item is fully consumed and later obtained again, it should automatically retain its favourite marking.
• Optional: Add a toggle in settings to enable/disable persistent favourites for players who prefer the current behavior.
- Balance
- No gameplay impact, this is purely a quality-of-life improvement.
- Abuse Prevention
- No risk of abuse or exploitation.
- Summary
- Persisting favourite markings per item type would make the inventory system more intuitive and efficient, especially for players who repeatedly use the same items.
A quality-of-life improvement while requiring minimal development effort.
- Have you looked to see if this has already been suggested?
- Yes, I have read the DNSL and checked previous submissions to ensure this idea is not a duplicate.
Dear community,
I would like to suggest a small but impactful quality-of-life improvement to the inventory system.
Currently, when you mark an item as favourite, it only applies to that specific instance. Once the item is used up, the favourite marking is lost. If you later obtain the same item again, you need to manually mark it again.
It would be much more convenient if the favourite status persisted per item type, so that items you frequently use automatically remain prioritized.
This would make the system more intuitive and reduce repetitive actions, especially for commonly used consumables.
Kind regards,
@Atokirina
