Spoiler Next Era - "The Unknown"

With SASH now out, lets have fun thinking about the next era!
The next age after SASH appears to be called "The Unknown"
Knowing that the last tech of SASH was the successful creation of an FTL Drive, we may be leaving the galaxy. We might be going to new star systems! EG, Alpha Centauri or stars alike.

What do you all hope to see in "The Unknown" and what do you think it will be like?

Let's see those the "technomancers from alfa centauri" for ourselves. At least if the warnings from Gerald Winkler from another game is right (offline game). Although we might have to "prepare for unforeseen consequences" as the G-man would say.
Jokes aside, I'm hoping for an endgame age. Perhaps the devs can take inspiration from the game Stellaris. I'm really not hoping for some wacky series of Elvenar chapter "ages." A renewable endgame inspired by Stellaris with cosmic crisis that can be resolved with all endgame players working together or smaller crisis seasons solo or something else of epic proportions would be nice. Let it at least be something fun and not just an ordinary age with a colony.

Wake me up (tag me) when we get a new mechanic for the future ages.

You mean we may be leaving our Solar System and explore the rest of our galaxy: Alpha Centauri is still in the Milky Way.

I'd love to see an alien NPC nation being added. Inno could create some kind of server-wide battlefield where guilds compete with each other by conquering alien territory (maybe something similar to gvg? but mostly pve). Aliens could also appear in GBG with varying persistence - depending on activity on certain map.

The entire age could revolve around competing with aliens as humans and expanding our sphere of influence in the galaxy.

1) To send ships into the vast space and return after some hours bringing us good gifts or nothing or to crash into aliens and lose the spaceships we sent
2) to have a new feature in the game. Now there should be cooperation, instead of war, of 4, 5 allies to fight in cooperation with aliens on different planets and then to conquer them and on that planet after these 4, 5 alliances to fight like the battlefields of one thing
3) new bonuses in large buildings: a building will appear which will shrink, there are already buildings... it will give you fragments with each level so that at 500 or 1000 fragments it will create an energy for you and you can use it in any building and you do from 5x5 to 5x4 or 4x5 depending on how you want to have it. you will only be able to make one reduction in each building

Sounds like a feature of Ogame. Where you can send spaceships on an expedition. Bringing back a report in Xh. Depending on the level of relevant technology available. Sometimes they got attacked by space pirates, other times they came back with more… interesting results. I would definitely love to see such in addition to a main endgame

I hated that game just because of the attack mechanism. Could spend weeks/months on a system to have it all get wiped, you couldn't turtle yourself enough. I was totally turned off by any game with pvp for years because of it. Luckily foe didn't have a big problem with plundering but it's never gone away from me.

That suggestion more sounds like the boats we already have for af/oa. Send the boat to collect special goods and maybe a random reward.

Hopefully they’ll come up with a few new great GB’s. Particularly one that could offer support to QI would be nice. For example a GB that lowers costs slightly (0,2%/lvl up to lvl100). It wouldn’t interfere with the sale of QI related bonuses. While it’s supporting players. Besides that it’s part of the most expensive GB’s of the game and presumably remain that.
I wouldn’t like it too much, if they would introduce again only raw military bonuses. Although an efficient %:att_def_attacker_defender_ge: wouldn’t be too bad with the current developments. I’m most certainly not expecting a GbG and QI specific bonuses. QI specific critical hit is also something I wouldn’t expect but could be interesting. As QI is easily one of the most rewarding features up to now.

When it comes down to speculation regarding the age. I’m hopefully speculating they’ll introduce a few novelty GB’s. Like I’ve described above. Further more I’m speculating on a retroactive endgame feature. Unlocked at the very end of the tech tree. Which opens up world challenges for endgame players. Who are presented quarterly or monthly a random crisis. Caused from threats from beyond our galaxy. The further endgame players come, the better rewards they can earn. Comparable to the original world Challenge. Each crisis offers the chance to endgame players to earn a unique building.

As how the game is right now, ages have no sense to exist anymore.
That's a hilarious statement. Ages impact a number of things. Mainly what units you'll face in GE and GbG. Making both either easier or harder. It's also what impact what NAU you can get and how high the %:fpboost: buff is for the eco hubs. Like from SA:T and onwards it's a whopping 3%:fpboost:. With a number of those buildings you can crank up your daily fp production substantially.
While the regular buildings have lost their value. It doesn't mean ages don't have any value to offer. What I've described above is just the most significant. Besides expansions from the TT and the cmap. With a decent level CF you can get thousands of diamonds easily. Which can be used for more expansion. So, not sure why the loss of value from regular buildings is made out to be that impactful.

Taking the statement literally, makes it fall apart entirely. As FoE's ages are at the core of the game. While I understand that it's unfortunate EB's don't reflect the ages, the ages are still playing a major role

You could call them A,B,C etc. Instead of ages and nothing changes, ages has no importance anymore. Event buildings are everything.

i was hoping for a galaxy pvp map where we can fight for control over planets, and a mystery story involving the galactic core, toward which we would be travelling in this new era (or one after this).

You're right that switching their names around doesn't change their functionality. For example with Elvenar. Where they call ages chapters. Only luck we got is that we have a space colony. That doesn't consume space in our main city. Elevenar players are less lucky. They must sacrifice space in their cities to facilitate a guest race's settlement.
Either way the ages still determine the theme of the main building, affect productivity of EB's and most importantly whatever units you're fighting. Effectively fundamentally affecting your daily gameplay experience. Personally I'm pushing now hard for the Titan age. To greatly improve my fp production at the live server. That been said. I share your disappointment. That the looks of your city doesn't change with the age you're in.

I really tried to end 2024 on a positive note about how I felt about "Inno-vation" over at Inno. Running into this thread has reminded me of just how fast it took to delude me into thinking that they were actually capable of introducing something new or more accurately, not completely screwing up something that was pretty okay. In 13 short years they've managed to completely screw up every single battle scenario, make forging of empires boring and redundant (and yes, I mean both) because they are too short-sighted to include a bit of fun into ... well anything anymore. What happened to the screwy lines like "Your Majesty!! Did you give that maniac RinBin explosives?" (still cracks me up) Battlegrounds. Let's not go there. GvG. Let's definitely not go there. PvP Arena. Yep. Not going there. QI. What the hell were you thinking?? And now, the final stab in the heart - GE. Let's make it not make sense. Let's charge more for less. (Yes, we've already done this - get over it, Mor). Blah-de-blah. But, seriously???

YOU MESSED WITH GE.

You took the last bastion of hope and sense in a game that has turned into a bunch of strings tying tin cans together and busted it all to Hades and back and said, "Here!! It's NEW!! It's BETTER! It's NEW AND IMPROVED!! (Like you can have both?)" Bull. Bullspit. Phhhhhht. No it's not. It's stupid and it's a cheat. You've walked all over that line about lying to us before Inno and we saw it coming. We knew you were doing it. But this time you out and out cheated us.

YOU HAVE NO REASON.

You didn't even tell us why. You didn't hint at it. You didn't prep us with new toys and folderols and bling to get us to guessing what's up your tiny little sleeves. Oh, yeah. The stats buffs are trying but they're just peeing in the wind. They only come up with one answer that's still true: IT COSTS MORE AND THERE'S NO REASON FOR IT TO DO SO.

When I was a wee lass learning how to explicate literature -- and write a bit, too -- the one thing that all of my teachers tried their hardest to teach us aside from trying hard not to be screamingly auto-biographical was to stay true to you. Write what you know. If you create a universe, stick to the rules you gave it.

YOU BROKE YOUR OWN RULES, INNO. You raised the price and you didn't even tell us why or how or what the purpose was. I ain't talking about monetization here, y'all. Don't treat me like I'm dense because I'm not. Here, I'll spell it out for you:

You've taught me that when something costs me more, I'll see something - a reward - a building - a power - a something - a "thing" I'm gonna want more than I want that "stuff" I just used to pay for it even if the "math ain't mathin," boy, do I sure want that thing! When you popped a 2.6% variable increase on the base price tag of just unlocking levels, you went and changed the rules of your own universe.

Shame, shame, shame on you.

Having said all of that -- who the heck cares what the next era will be? It will be a false one in a lie.

not sure i'll still be playing when new era starts INNO are realy screwing everything up it's becoming rediculous how many fragments we have of buildings who will probably never be available again in future just in GBG i think it's 6th new building not including Statue or elephant kits or TG here , one sugestion i'd give INNO as new
would be something where you merge those old useless frags to get new frags of more recent buildings , frags of thunderdrake siegeshop i dont think they'll bring back , Glimmdrake tower or riders are other things i don't think they'll bring back , i'v got fragments of graveyard up-grade i think i'll never use , frags of shrine of inspiration

what i mean is in this new mechanic we could merge frags of shrine of inspiration and frags of thunderdrake siegeshop and end up with eather a fully complete completely new building or frags of a more recent building that gives equivalent of ( fractions or % ) of what those buildings would have given once complete depending on how much frags you have for each ex : if i have 5 of the 15 frags of shrine of inspiration that would be 1/3 of what building would originally give not taking into account BP's it gives 1/3 of coins of that building is 26443 coins + what ever % thunderdrake siegeshop frags would end up giving something that gives close the 2 added you get where am going with this ?
or maybe frags can merge to form something to fuel a ship that would be only accessible by end game players as they are the ones with the most frags in inventory lol

any ways like i said i'll probably not be there when something new and really interesting will be implemented by INNO
