Rejected New event type : Short Events

Status
Not open for further replies.
Reason
To add a new challenge to the game.
Details
See Proposal above
Balance
Higher eras cities tend to be larger due to more expansions available,, then a larger city may have advantage than smaller cities from lower eras for certain events. If for balance reasons the requirements to win rewards in these Short Events for higher eras may be different than in low eras.
Abuse Prevention
None identified. Open to discussion.
Summary
New short event activity offering rewards for a game activity performed during a time period defined. Rereawrds value and requirements to achieve next reward to increase each time during the event.
Have you looked to see if this has already been suggested?
Yes, none similar proposal identified. DSNL reviewed.
Visual Aids
None
Proposal:
Not a change of current seasonal or special events we have now, those to continue as currently designed. Not a change to the historical events we had earlier.

Add a new type of event that only requires to complete a task as many times possible for a limited period of time. Rewards given by the event are given upon to complete the given task by a required number of times, as the event advances the next reward is better than the previous one, and the requirement to win them increases too. Requirements to complete the reward goal may be balanced by era of the player. Event ends after Player win all rewards or after event time period ends.
====
Example:
Title: Battle Short Event Duration: 5 Days
Requirement: Complete/Win Battles (any battle in the game is valid for the event: Continent Maps, GE, GBG, Quests, PVP Arena, Neighborhood Battle, etc.)
Total of Rewards in the event: X, up to 25? (Developers to define, not just one reward per day).
Requirement to Win Reward #1: Win 10 Battles
Requirement to Win next Rewards: Win X Battles, To increase after each reward, not necessarily in same intervals.
Game to record number of battles won by the Player since event start date/time and pop up a message announcing the goal reached, reward won and requirement for next reward.
Example: Congratulations: You have completed 75 battles in the event and receive Reward #3: 50 FPs (added to FP packages at Inventory) Next Reward (description of reward) at 125 battles
====
There could be events based on other aspects of the game: Supplies collection from Buildings, Negotiations, Goods production, Coins Collection, etc.

I think the Castle System and the recurring quests all serve the same purpose... you get rewards for these actions (especially if you have a CF for the RQs), don't you?

Great, let's have another PvP Arena, but it this one you can fight everywhere, so abuse is a lot easier!

This could be a fun idea. But the task should be something not done everyday. Some type of mini-game like the one in the Aztec cultural settlement.

The rewards should be something other than everyday things like FP's or goods. Some ideas: Fragments of wishing wells, or one up kits. Past event building upgrades like for the Druid Temple or Crow's Nest. and so forth.

Interesting. More likely represented as "weekly mission" or "weekly quest" means good addition to the game.

For example:
- collect 15000 tavern silver.
- heal 100 units
- gather 2M coins/supplies
- gather 10000 goods
- successful plunder 200 times
- attack and defeat 2000 units
- 250 successful negotiations
-- like these weekly mission/quest can be given randomly to the user without abort option. If users interested, they can go for it and claim the reward with the proposed idea. Myself little deviate from the proposed idea but still sailing on the same idea concept.

Also having a limitation like, these weekly mission/quest can be available only to the users who are entered into modern era. It would be a perfect use-case. Like a real life scenario, when the weekend over, having a new work to do in the upcoming week, same as in the game like mission reset after weekend.

Sorry if it was completely deviate from the proposed idea, myself actually thought like this when reading the idea.

1-very easy to exploit-spearmen heal in 2 mins
2-these need to be acc to era like 2m in ema,4m in hma
3-people will use circular/round trades
Ofcourse some are easy for players who has good understanding of the game. But those are still painful, if they can only do those mission only on current or previous era. So only limitation is must and only for users who attain modern era can gets these weekly approach. Just expressing my view on the proposed idea with some examples. That's all. As a fact, all my examples are easy only if user wish to rush the weekly mission in a single day, that's user choice. But still examples are quite vaild to run along for 6 or 7 days in a week. Circular trades, still you need to be in a good guild or having strong friend or neighbor for helping you out. Players above colonial age finds evey mission like piece of cake. That's how the game moves forward if players understand the game nicely.

They ditched the Historical Questlines. Every time a new event starts players complain about there being to many events and to little time between them, so you come up with an idea for more events. You are really funny.

The rejection of the Historical Quests is mostly for forcing to do tasks that are not aligned to the development strategy that the Players have for the cities. They (we) required more time between events to be able to work on our cities without the interruptions from the events. The balance obtained removed the Historical ones leaving only the seasonal / special ones.

I came up with an idea that would bring "Short Events" that are not full of quests that are non productive to the city progress and deviates the Player from the strategy he/she has set for the city.
Who really needs to raise Happiness by XX,XXX and spent resources to build and delete decorations and cultural buildings over and over and over? Who really enjoy doing this?
How many Players really needs to build X houses of their era or x+Y houses of the previous era? Maybe just those who entered recently a new era, but most Players dont have a need for more residential buildings or population.

These Short Events can be completed by just collecting from the city, or advancing in the Continent Map or doing negotiations at GE/GBG aligned with the Player's plan, not forcing the Player in wasting resources in tasks leading to nowhere.

Example: 3 Days Short Event: Collect Coins
Player just needs to collect from the city, as he/she will normally do at every game session he/she decides to do. Also, can motivate/polish at the guildmembers/friends cities and get additional coins, as normally he/she would routinely do. If the Player likes GE he may win additional coins while doing that, and more from Regular, Side, of Recurring Quests if advancing in that game area is in his/her plan. If the Player is into advancing in the continent Map additional coins can be won there. The event is not interfering in the Player's plans for the city, not like the Historical Events did in the past.

So doing what you are already doing and by doing so getting extra rewards. How is that not DNS?
  • Ideas to make yourself richer.. or make the game easier. The game is meant to be played over time and is meant to have a lot of strategy to it.

If you feel an idea is in violation of the DNSL, please use the "Report" function to bring it to the attention of moderators rather than posting about it in that thread. Thank you.
I see what you're aiming at. Pretty strongly discredits everyone who's not using the report system for suspected / "supposedly" DNSL, IMHO. As often some wacky interpretation for ideas/suggestion is find, while arguing with at best an goofy interpretation of something pulled from DNSL. Giving an false sense of authority and violating the set procedure in place for such in the process.
Glad that @Darrth Eugene Vader3 has digged up the proper procedure for suspicion of DNL.:) Hopefully the proper procedure won't be violated anymore knowing the proper procedure now.
