My guildmate found an announcement on the French FoE forum about an new, somewhat like GvG, but lite, feature that will be playable on both PC and phone. You can read rough translation ot the announcement in the spoiler:

In this section, we will explain the current state of the concept, which we call "Guild battlefields". Remember that this is a work in progress and will not be finalized until we have collected the information from the community to make the necessary adjustments.
hat are the "Battlefields of Guilds"?
In this new feature, all guilds wishing to participate will be aligned on different battlefields. Each battlefield has its own card that contains five to eight guilds and will last ten days.
Within each field, the participating guilds will fight for victory by holding more provinces as possible as long as possible.
Battlefields gameplay
each guild begins at the edge of the battlefield map with a province, which can not be removed from them.
From there, they can begin to conquer the adjacent provinces. To take a province, each guild member can click on an eligible province and perform a fight or negotiation. These fights and negotiations will always correspond to the era of the player who executes it, allowing each member of the guild to participate in a realistic way!
After completing the fight or negotiation, the member will provide his guild with an advanced position, which will be represented by a conquest flag (see picture) on the target.
The first guild to accumulate enough advanced positions will gain control of the given province, while all other guilds that attempt to conquer it will also lose half of their advanced positions in that province.vince that has just been occupied will be locked for a few hours, which will give the new owner time to earn victory points (see section below) and allow him to choose a provincial building (see section below) that he might wish to build.
