Discussion Flat Model Mode Feedback

You really think? I dont think so... too many inconsistencies for the sympols/classifications of especially event buildings
They could use a better color symbol for building that are a mix, but since forever most event building where houses (even when they have no population or cost population).

This is useful as is. And so it could go live for browser.

Improvement:
  1. More contrast for houses border. The current border is very difficult to see when multiple houses are next to each other
  2. If there an incident on a road and the icon hovering over an nearby building is exactly in the same square, then the incident is visible but the icon isn't. But clicking on the icon neither collect the building nor collect the incident, nothing happens. Workaround: use move to select the road tile, that will collect the incident (and then do not complete the move, you probably need the road there).
  3. Use a separate symbol and colour for event building that are currently classified as "houses" but are anything but houses.
  4. Allow user to rotate the flat view to vertical (instead of diagonal like now). You can remove all the background if we do it, instead of having to handle the different prospective.

BTW this is NOT an official feedback thread. This is under discussion.
Apparently Inno doesn't think it need any feedback on this feature, just bug reported.

I like it but the border between green buildings needs to be darker (or black). The borders on all the colors look ok when they're next to each other but the green needs to be a bit darker.
Yes, this should look like an Excel spreadsheet grid, with each building outlined showing it's size, orientation and differentiation.

Are we testing here and give feedback or just giving applaus? Inno should have a clear and honest feed back. Otherwise users on live are unhappy. Thats why we give critical feedback here on this platform

After having had some time to dig more into this feature I found the following issues...
1. (as already mentioned) inconsistencies in showing event buildings (some have a house some have a goods box)
2. Buildings sizes and their borders are not highlighted for the "green ones" (I guess event buildings). Compare to other types like GBs
3. Moving a building is not informing about missing street connection, like in any other building feature
4. I very much like that incidents stay visible on the map
5. I like the transparency of empty fields

I don't care about anything except seeing the road incidents. Aside from gbg/qi, thats my biggest gripe with the game right now especially since they tried to help it once with a community suggestion (bigger??? outline) and it was completely useless AND ITS A REPEAT TASK to find them!!!

If I want to remodel my city I'll do that in the rebuild area where its already organized by classifications and shows size.

I like it a lot, especially, since I'm finally able to find the incidents in my cluttered streets. If I can suggest something its to be able to customize the colors or at least make a strong contrast between the area color and the borders (green is especially bad).

I think this is ready for live.
But some things can be improved:
  • Colour & symbol association with buildings
  • Border contrast
  • when in flat mode, building something or doing other operations end flat mode. It shouldn't. It's annoying. Current version of flat mode is still better than trying to get roads in correct place in Mughal without flat mode.

I really like this feature. I wish it was in reconstruction mode as well, but even as it stands now it's useful and would be good to see in live.

it really doesn't matter all I need to see is the size of the buildings.

That was his feedback. Are we supposed to pick everything apart down to the minutia just to satisfy everyone.

So far I find it quite helpful in getting an oversight of incidents and empty fields. I couldnt find a difference between those buildings with a goods sign and a house sign so far. The symbols are not really helpful.

I find the suspended crates far more annoying than the flat signs. They make it difficult to manipulate the building, especially the small(er) ones.

I think this is ready for live servers. I don't have any incidents right now so I don't know yet if will be able to see them. The comments I've seen, especially the suggestions I can agree with and echo that most if not all can be done once it goes live.

Another feature is the Visit All Taverns which I tried to find a thread for. I do not have the privilege to start a thread. I would like to comment that I use it everyday and find it very useful. It is also ready for lives in my opinion.

Good feature easy to find any incidents that are in my city. Also good for a quick moving around of any buildings. I have found it super useful.
