Feedback Fellowship Event 2024

Allies failed it for me. They released the feature half-assed by not explaining the whole story on how it really works, how to level your ally, and such. Second blow was when they put it in an event (only one) in fragments (mind anyone) that we had to do stuff in order to get a full one. But, with the low starting SINGLE stats, they will be as useful as the current AD in beta or the Player Vs Bots Arena to which not many people will care about them.
The real problem is that the allies are lucklaster. The new one (Alexander) is stronger than he initial one, but not that strong to make the event building competitive.

It might actually backfire, because we can put Alexander into the Timeless Juction, making it a 2x2 with 30% attack bonus (no road required).

Removing the bonus from the building and putting a roon for allies instead make the building weak but can be abused by putting the new ally into a previous building that was not balanced for the higher bonus. This makes balancing building stat MUCH more difficult.
For balancing you can assign to rooms the value of the strongest ally it can fit.
But if you evaluate builidng using that for balancing and we have only one ally that is that strong, then only one building is correctly balanced and the other are weaker. If you don't balance them like that, then using only some of the building with room will give more bonuses than was "expected".

And once we have allies with different bonuses it is even worst.

Yes, you have to wonder about the group that thinks up these things, and then builds them. Don't they reach out to an important (and articulate) group of FoE players to test their theories on these add-in game products FIRST, before it goes into engineering to build? Who's giving them feedback, before we even see it, if it isn't visionary players that GROK the game?

To release something new in beta (with a lot of fanfare!!) like Allies, and then have a negative to only tepid response - must be very dissapointing.
I mean there are tons of things from OLD FoE that are now truly half-baked ideas that still exist, and are just dead-end dormant with dust on them. As well, new things get on this list quickly these days.

1) Goods Merchants in Market - 2" of dust on this
2) Auction Dealer's version 1 --> game/beta look @ v2 - DoA and needs reasonable re-balancing to release to live a true Version 2
3) Tavern Shop itself - needs total revamping/review - offerings are NOT modern game relevant!
4) Sitting in Friends Tavern - why do we needs this? We have 10's of millions of silver with NOTHING to buy in the shop (see #3)

Other game developers had followed similar routes in the years past and majority were shut down due to no player support and/or revenue. I know someone is going to tell me "it's a business" but how can it be a business if it doesn't tailor to entice the player masses to get them to come back for more and even refer their friends.

I don't have a problem to spend my money, but I wanted to spend on something I can say to myself that "it was worth it" when I do; not for something that was either half-assed in being released or something that I would shake my head on in disappointment.

Whoever they have back there deciding with these ideas needs to be taken out back, slapped with a wet noodle, and sent home.

To be fair I didn't have the time to catch on to this. However if the rivals require productions in a goods production from the previous age, SA:AB players will be hard locked out of it. Since the previous age's goods buildings are the Martian goods buildings which can only be build in the Mars colony. Guess what? SA:AB players don't have a Mars colony thus can't build those required goods buildings. Synthesizers are from the current age. So, they don't comply. Thus the quest requirement is impossible to complete and for that reason invalid. An easy fix would be collect X goods of the previous age, from a goods building. Adjust the required the number of previous age goods produced in a goods building to production capacity of dry goods buildings. So, from SA:AB the requirement can be adjusted upwards to keep the requirements inline.

Welcome back Drankenridder. Long time no see.

Currently the Rival requirement is a goods production of any age, so smart players just place a goods building from bronze age (construction: 30 min) and use finish goods production on it. A previous era production would be impossible indeed for SAAB players. Good catch. I never build goods productions buildings in my city so I never acknowledged the absence of SAM goods buildings. For that reason alone this requirement will not be implemented.

You mean possibly like... a smart INNOvative city-administrator ally? How about one to make your job of your city management easier? One that could be tied to townhall or a specific building or GB (like a Blue Galaxy...), that, upon the building's collection flag status changing to ON, would get to work on your behalf:

1) check if a coin boost and/or supply boost flask is active, if not - uses X coin/supply boosts from your inventory, if available
2) check if any buildings can be aided, if so - smartly uses 1 Mass SELF AID kit from your inventory to ensure city motivation/polish uniformity
3) if authorized, spend 5 diamonds and auto collect your city - if you didn't authorize it, then the city would be prepped for you to manually collect or 5-diamond collect yourself.

now that's an ALLY...

Yay, we are back to spend the event currency for time skips and do fights and do negotiations without the "or" option. What a delightful sight. /s

You know, I thought, they did learn from the past, but f*** it. I won't do this, it's just stupid, because it's obvious, that the first 4h-time skip appearing on Q8 is just the more than obvious beginning during this rival. It's basically Inno telling us, that if we want the 750 of 1000 fragments of the second hero, we have to pay a s***load of money for him, without knowing how to get the last 250 fragments.

Yeah, I know, the poeple a Inno have to earn money somehow and for that Inno needs to earn money by monetizing the game. But there are limits to what is acceptable, IMO.

Looks like this rival would only function by using Diamonds
and who knows what else the rival is going to demand, aargh

Thanks to Rival you can get 3 times 250 fragments of Arminius. But he requires 1000 fragments to be sewn together like Frankenstein. So how do we get the last 250 fragments? Maybe it's a secondary reward of the last task?

The 4 hour time skip is indeed a major hurdle. I had around 3,900 gemstones and decided to pay the 700 gemstones. The main reason is that I want access to the rewards after quest 8, which are:

8: Carriage/Jolly Oink selection kit + monarch's edict + 250 frags Arminus
9. 2 king's chronometers
10. 50 gemstones
11. 2 seals of advancement
12. 50 gemstones + knights pavilion selection kit
13. 50 gemstones
14. 2 king's chronometers
15. 50 gemstones

For advancing I had to spend reward 11 (2 seals of advancement) and some 180 gemstones on quest 12 (2 managers at lvl 4).

So my net gain was a Jolly Oink, 4 chronometers, a monarch's edict and a knight's pavilion selection kit for around 680 gemstones. I guess that's worth it.

But now I'm stuck at quest 16. If I pay 700 gemstones I'll run out of money to buy managers in the last days of the event.
First I want to see the rewards from someone who finished this rival.
