I'll set my expectations very low to avoid much disappointment! If I get more than one Incident a week then I'll be overjoyed!!!

Doing a 3 minute sweep of ever tree is a pain, but as these stay for 24 hours you only need to do one sweep a day. for a chance at a freebie, what the hey. Just be sure that you really note that ZERO is a real possibility. I am presuming that you are not putting an idiot light anywhere to tell you that an incident has occurred? :)

It has been more than a couple of days without any incidents appearing. Is that normal?

Got this time the ''rare'' rhino on the raft, but got only 20 goods. Not bad 20 goods, but
for something rare is it underpowerd. I expected at least some booster or a renovation
kit or one up kit or something like that, not just 20 goods.:(

I like the Incidents, I think it is a great little addition, it costs nothing and so far it has not taken me more than 1-2 minutes to check my map for Incidents........... am somewhat concerned what others have been doing to take 20-40 minutes to check, maybe they included lunch, an afternoon nap and a stroll to the kindergarten in that time.

As for adding some sort of "highlight" to notify when Incidents have occurred, forget it, if you need to be spoon fed everything then why bother.
Regarding the rhino in the boat, if that is your only complaint, then I think the devs have got it pretty much correct, keep the rhino :)

I'd like to see them a little bit bigger for those of us who have trouble seeing them or something that shows how many there are

I'd like to see them a bit bigger and/or with a little colour change for those in the wilderness. Not everyone has 20/20 vision and in their present form they're likely to cause a repeat of the feedback surrounding the apples especially from older players and those with colour blindness

At the moment, "Yes!". After 5 on day1, I had six days with zero Incidents and then 1 yesterday. It's supposed to be 0-5 Incidents per day but what Inno hasn't stated is the probability of each; i.e. you'll probably find a 40% chance of zero Incidents, 25% of 1, 15% of 2, 10% of 3, 7.5% of 4 and 2.5% of 5.

Zarok, many thanks for your feedback! Any chance of access to our Logs?!!

Guess, that I'm really, really, REALLY unlucky then!!!
Another day dawns and still no Incidents!!!! I can't believe that they are spawning but are really so difficult for me to spot when I found the five on Day 1 in seconds.

I found 5 on day 1 in about 10 seconds as well and nothing since. I play on pc, tried logging out/in, checked behind buildings, checked roads. I must be very unlucky.

I think the point is something for nothing is nice, but when you find nothing the first pass, you take a second in more detail, then you refresh to make sure it is not a bug or hope it maybe moved the things that may or may not be there to a different place you can see. And then you come back later and check a couple more times just in case.
The something for nothing turns into irritation and work that you eventually don't bother with.
I would prefer knowing an exact amount each day and have the probability of them being junk higher.

I've moved on to Elvenar, so I'm barely here anymore, unfortunately. Earlier this month, I popped in just to check on my city and fiddled around a bit with the Summer Casino. I got some nice things, so I was pleased. Popped back yesterday to check if the Casino was still on, more great stuff, thanks much for that. (Anything with elephants playing in water is always going to make me happy.)

That said...

I noticed on the log-in screen this thing about "incidents". I must say that I'm a little...upset. Where's my Godzilla? When someone says "incident" in relation to a city, I expect to see the King of Monsters! I stopped by FOE this afternoon on my way to Elvenar and noticed there was a poor Rhino aloft on a raft out in the bay. I attempted to rescue him, but when I did so, all I got was 20 goods. I'm disappointed. Did it occurred to any of you lot that some of us may want to keep the Rhino? I could place him in the stream outside of my tavern, and the besotted patrons would have an experience to write home about, I can tell you. I understand there is a tree with a kite stuck in it. Is this also a teaser? I don't get to actually keep the kite-eating tree? And don't get me started on that mammoth dig. You've no idea how badly that needs to be a feature in my city, right next to the Library.

:p

Seriously though, it's nice to see new stuff when I check back. Gives me more reason to continue to do that. The only suggestion I would make is there should be (if there isn't already) a chance of actually winning the "incident" when you click it. I may not be the only player who would like that. :D

because incidents in town can be covered by buildings (50% of my road is not visible!) -- and not everybody wants to move the buildings once a day to see if there is a roadblock behind them

Actually great breaking news style announcement regarding the incidents -- like -- "traffic jam on X street" "rhino spotted near town" "sunken boat resurfaced" "treasure found in wildernes" etc. mght add a bit fun to it.

Am I missing something? Are these incidents appearing every day? Or do I always have to guess as to when they may appear? If they appear every day, then shouldn't I have at least one incident in my city every day? I can't find any anywhere.

Allegedly 0-5 Incidents appear daily and can appear at any time. However, having received zero Incidents for six days out of the last eight, I think the probability of receiving zero is significantly higher than receiving 1 or more.
This is just lose of time. Stupid and useless.
Agreed! The Incidents system needs a serious revision and overhaul before Live server release. Hopefully the quote from the Update to 1.104 will prove fruitful where Inno state that there will be "further polishing of the incidents"

The probability of it being any of the potential numbers is the same. There is no special math, preference, or probability here, it's just 1 out of the potential numbers.

Then I really have been unlucky!
5 Incidents once, 1 Incident once, zero Incidents six times!
