Feedback Historical Questline - Genghis Khan

3% defense in EMA from 9 tiles, LOL... And again quests on campaign map with no alternatives. It's kind of joke? Thanks, I'll pass :)
Apparently, you do not get the message ;-).
Saying goes like this: The first time is coincidence, a second time may happen -- but the third time is intentional.

Do not wait for meaningless words from people which would not be able to overpower the loudness of their actions anyway. We are waaay past the third time, are we not? Let me spell it out: It is not intended for you to be able to hold up your progress over a prolonged period of time. You may choose to do it anyway and pass up the merits of the so-called progress in a game which very much hinges on progress.

Interestingly, not even the developers were able to stop their own machine. As many weathered FoE players will remember, the game was designed to lead the players through the Ages until the near future. This is the reason why the PvP map ends with "The Future" to this day. Realizing that progress could not be stopped without losing many long-time players and sacrificiing the games innermost principle at the end, the future scenarios fix was implemented fanning out different possibilities for the future like a bunch of flowers. We will see where it leads soon watching the actions of the actors and the direction of the game. This really goes for everywhere politics plays a part... ^^

[...] Genghis Khan? Defense? That's so wrong..! [...]

Definitely feels wrong. Although one might say, after dealing with Khan for time, careful consideration of hi(s)tory, contemplation and wise insights your defensive capabilities against Khan and the likes of him would probabaly be increased. -- Of course, such insights would certainly not be incorporated and forged into an unreflective statue of the man any more than a holocaust memorial would sport a solemn statue of ******.
A statue is always an idol, you know, one of those some ancient deity prohibited the use of a long time ago, had it hewn into stone, passed down the centuries until today where billions of believers *should* follow this law but instead follow their idols on twitter and watch them on LED screens ...but I digress ^^.
The point is, an idol harvests the imaginative power of the worshippers and makes it harvestable to be put to active use. The people able to do such a thing are called (i)magicians or magi. A contemporary term albeit ignorant of its deeper meaning would be "celebrity" or "star", the shining icon offering to carry your light. The image that people are tought to have of this idol acts as a filtered receiver for the desired kind of energy.

Putting up a statue or an idol of some kind acts like an energy tax on the people seeing it, they do not even have to worship it. But if they do the taxation increases significantly.
If you consider this priciple you may see it is by definition a kind of fascism, meaning, bundeling of (powers), infringing on, not taking away entirely, the free will of the people.

Socialized power like this can be used for good. But as with any kind of socialized power, the materialistic being taxes, once it is acquired by the controllers it is never willingly relinquished. At best it is put to new and good use, normally it is put to a new and self-serving use (which is already quite bad) and at worst it is twisted and turned against the very ones giving their energy. Lo and behold modern times... the idols and paragons of the TV-Age self serving and working against the masses.
The danger of socialism, the danger of fascism, the danger of idols -- hence the commandment.

"Thou shalt not be socialist!" ;-)
I expect any statue to have some measure of open or offensive quality while enclosed spaces such as tempels are connected to defensive qualities.

3 sectors or scout 1 province?
I had to negotiate 2 sectors for possibility to scout next province. So I have 2 sactors AND scout province. Never mind in beta, but bad joke for live...

Am I missing something? Bronze age Tiger's Den gives 5% and 720 happiness (polished) and this gives 3% and 660 for EMA?

So this is not just weaker than a tigers den but weaker than a tigers den of the previous era? This seems quite underpowered.

Not to mention it's pretty much a worthless stat anyway. At "end game" levels, even 600+% defense can be beaten. Terracotta might change things a bit.

@20% then 1% every other I can't see it will. I can't quite decide if its genius or a just a poor GB design. Inno seem to have given us a new GB you probably have to have but I doubt any1 really wants. Its not good enough to be good but you probably have to have it just to stay even with those who add it.

Unless something gave a very substantial Def boost I Can't see defences holding out more than before.

Agree w/the Genghis 'Defense' building, but also the 'Happiness' factor.
Since WHEN did Genghis = Defense OR Happiness??
If anything this building should be at least 7% offense (10% 'cuz it's Genghis) and a -500 (-1000 happiness, 'cuz it's Genghis).
Once again, (and not surprisingly), the so called 'Development' Team has shown they no consideration
Talk about re-writing history!!

EDIT: NormaJeane - 2018-07-16 - Disrespectful language.

For DAs the weak stat is their attack strength. Most sane players don't build or at least don't spend much effort in levelling deal castle or st basil's so usually defending units are at 0% boost for their attack strength. It won't be uncommon to see a 40-50% boost terracotta in a few weeks meaning defenses will hit a bit less like wet noodles while still potentially being brick walls with 600%+ defense.

it'll be built for the offensive portion. An extra 50% attack at level 70ish wouldn't hurt given it's 4x6. I expect on live servers there will be a few hitting level 70 within a day or 2 of the new age going live. I remember seeing a level 65 Kraken on day 1 that it went live.

Lots of comments regarding historical accuracy about end prize should be attack boost for a man famous for conquering a large part of the known world, which I have to agree with.
However, if you want historical accuracy, a questline about a man famous for conquering so much territory ought to include a couple of conquer a province quests which I suspect will not be so popular an idea.
I think AmandaDad's suggestion of high attack value with a large negative happyness is a good one.

Certainly if you said -100k in VF for happy that would at least force players to consider happy again - most have too much excess to care atm...

Hm - so not that I mind, but Summer Event is hitting live before Genghis Khan it appears. Does this mean you're revamping the event somehow? Or just logistics of when you want summer to run made it too hard to squeeze in before it and it'll be after?
