In my opinion, there are just too many events and historical quest lines. It has nothing to do with the fact there are scout a province and research a technology in every single one, its that there are too many events and historical quest lines full stop.
I agree....the scout province and tech quests have always been part of the game and i think we never had people complaining about "game forcing me to do things" or atleast it was limited to the usual people that like to moan about everything every time.

but now we have so many events...almost once every 2 weeks or 1 week? that more and more people are finding it difficult to keep up with these.

i personally don't mind these events as im at the end of the game with tech finished and continent map almost done.

I feel that with the high number of historical quest lines it kind of lessens the seasonal/special events. These quest lines should be an amusing diversion from the daily play but with the frequency of them it is starting to feel like this is the daily play.
The seasonal/special events should have the harder, more difficult quests such as scout providence, control a providence or research a tech and as such the rewards should be greater.
The historical quest lines, since they are shorter-time limited events, should involve the "easier" quests that do not require the higher level of time/effort/FP output as the seasonal/special events and the final rewards should be in line with the difficulty of the quest line completion. If a historical quest line reward is going to be a major bonus to the game-play, then announce it as such and increase the time line so we players can be ready and expect the more difficult quests.
AND YES I KNOW I DON'T HAVE TO PLAY THEM ..... but sometimes I would like to without having to scout a providence just to gain control of a providence 3 quests later at the very end of the quest line time.

Did the OP used to have a big long post about events and was deleted, or is there some sort of announcement about it?? What is going on in this thread, the first few replies seem like there is some particular post that I cant find.

I'm very annoyed with the 20 4 hour productions and 100 8 hour productions quest. Just pisses me off because on live I don't have enough space for more than 2 supply buildings. It would literally take me longer than the time allotted to complete the event. It's just worthless garbage to slow us down from getting the prize in one day. Just piss off and let users do what they want and finish the event as fast as they can. Just stop worrying and accept the bomb.

I am very concerned for summer event. There's no possible way Inno's going to give us both sets of buildings. I couldn't even get the one sakura set on live because of ****ing luck trying to get the emperors entrance. Saved up ALL my lanterns and STILL couldn't get it. Was like 30 lanterns short of getting it from the grand prize, but I didn't have any left. Didn't even bother building any of the set. Have a ton of padgotas though if anyone wants those garbage buildings. Casino is impossible with the wrong neighborhood. Hell, people will refresh it just so that nobody can get good prizes. I'll try it on beta, sure, but I'm probably going to sit it out on live.

I have 8 pages of inventory crap from all of these stupid events.

The biggest problem which I usually find is that: there are no alternatives to the missions that require exploring a province, conquering a sector, buying a sector, researching a technology.

The creator of the game made the FOE a game to be played "savoring", playing it slowly, quietly, enjoying it ... but seeing how after an event/quest appears soon after another and another later, makes the line of research accelerate, forcing the Age change. The same goes for exploring the map ... many players have no map to explore because of that! And worse, that others, who do have map, can not do anything for lack of materials of the age of that map, for lack of bonus to attack those units so advanced already.

My two cities in the FOE (server 5 and 8 of Spain) are in Colonial. In server 8 I am on the map of Industrial I lack provinces to conquer!

I use the FOE as an educational link, for any concept, science or subject of study you can imagine Primary, Secondary, College... Being able to build many more advanced GEs I don’t commit the aberration of making it appear as if it were an oopart, I respect the historical evolution (historical and translation errors included, like the call "Obelisk" to a Celtic "menhir").

Now the aberration is to fight in territory of Industrial being still in Colonial. The Modern Age is divided into Renaissance and Baroque. It does not make sense to be in Colonial age and not to have made an intermediate map that allowed to conquer the Caribbean and the coasts, like anteroom to the American continent. This would allow to have "provinces" to be conquered in that zone of the world without harming the historical advance, allowing that the evolution was on par with the events and quest that you could launch.

The key is to always put an alternative to these impediments:

Scout a province or ...
Conquer a sector or ...
Acquire a sector or ...
Conquer a province or ...
Investigate or ...

More events, more quest there isn’t a problem if I have alternatives.

PD.- I'm waiting a Quijote Festival XDXDXD

Just wanted to add my support for alternatives to 'province' quests. Most of my cities on live are already ahead on the map, and if you want to allow players to stay in their current era if they wish, you cannot expect us to keep winning provinces. Otherwise you might as well drop the plans to change research/scouting quests.

I´m a firm believer of this game (also) is about steady progress. I find it unatural to stay in one era too long (more than 6 months).
I aknowledge the increase in these historical questlines, so I´d like to see an alternative to the Scout a Province and Research a Tech quests, but keep the No alternative policy in the major events, such as the upcomming Summer-event, winter-event etc. Basically those events which lasts 2 weeks or longer.

A big issue for me is when a quest line starts JUST after I enter a new era. At that point all the 'Build 1 from current or 100 from previous' type quests a real pain. Not to mention I don't have the open spaces if is to build a structure, so I have to remove something I need, start building one, delete it, start another, delete it, etc. then build what was there again.

i like that we have the previous age option so at least these quests can be done, even if it is with a little bit of hassle & upheaval

Just to add that i really love the quest "Negotiate 2 sectors or win 7 battles" - #10 in questline.

It's perfectly balanced for each type of gameplay. I've always hated to negotiate as I don't wanna waste my goods on something which i can beat with my troops, and I'm sure farmers also hate to waste troops in battles. So, again, great job :)

What would result in you enjoying the game again?
Making the game activities less repetitive and mindless. Clicking 500 times to donate forge points detracts severely from the game. GvG is also far too repetitive. As is completing recurring quests.

And the 10 - 2 wave fights per province makes me dread trudging through the continent map.

The FP buying is beyond annoying for large numbers...I agree on the maps...iirc one of the AF provinces is 12 or 13 fights but the AF multi part continents (part 4 particularly) did feel much more of a chore than a pleasure. Perhaps like in the early eras we could have special provinces with unique troops (OF equivalent of the barbarian). Anything for a bit of variety.

On GvG I wish inno would make up their mind. Either fix GvG or abandon it completely for something new. At the moment its the sick pet of FoE that need treating!

Guess I'll just repost this here and add while the post does address many concerns it does not address the overall concern I have...

It seems more and more my gameplay is being driven for and by events rather than the core of the game itself; PvP, GvG and GE(Championships). At least with PvP, GvG and GE(Championships) we get purpose for forging these empires. I need a reason to be here and little prizes from events aint it, it's not why I initially came to this game anyway. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the events for what they are and like before they used to be a nice little break from the game but now it's like they're becoming the game itself.

I'd like something new that gives reason to building up my city, some new form of direct competition between players and guilds. What I mean by direct competition is the opposite of GE Championships which in the end is just comparing scores with other guilds, not very exciting. So please, let's get more actual game content and direct interaction with other guilds/players rather than events.

So I get through to task 12 of the latest Event and what do i find
GAIN CONTROL OVER A PROVINCE
so that's 3 days to scout a new continent and 2 days to scout the first province, so that's a no-no then.

That does not seem to fit with your new found ideals.
Pathetic

While I understand what you are saying here, as I stated in the original announcement:

→ We're gradually rolling out these changes for conditions - you'll probably see one or two conditions you haven't seen before in coming questlines.

We have already made progress by getting alternatives on a few quests. In time we will hopefully get more that may help with this type of quest as well. I know things often never seem to feel like they are happening soon enough, but we are making progress. Let's keep it up :)

Well, after more than 1 year of playing this; I must say, the game is really poor, pathetic and too obvious, there is no reason q to stimulate spending money on it, it is very simple and the most complicated are not things that make pure strategy but to shorten times spent diamonds, The developers continue to "complicate the game" with things that are just waiting and waiting or spending diamonds, buying and healing troops, shortening exploration times, etc., no challenge to a player's mind, fun things, guild war Dies in the middle of obstacles again and again, loading of the map, complications of useless goods, etc, etc, continue like this and end like your other games, in the limbo
