"Drake Mountains" in QI - does Inno mean a dragon or a male duck?

There is a discussion in the German forum about the translation of "Drake Mountains", where this is translated to "Erpelgebirge" (Erpel = male duck). Question to Inno: Are these mountains named after a Dragon, or a Male Duck?

I thought a drake is a kind of dragon/lizard without wings, but DeepL says it indeed means "Erpel" (male Duck) in German. Didn't know that. And I'm from Germany too.

According to the dictionary entry linked above, it can mean above - the dictionary just doesn't say, whether the dragon / lizard has wings or not.

Edit: it would by nice when someone from Inno could answer, which meaning is meant here, to have an "official" version.

maybe in deepl or some digital dictionary or another KI operated thing.

but for sure not in real life.

in real life a male duck is a male duck, also in german, and a drake is a drake
