Question on the snowball blast (i skipped rivals on beta - only played event on a couple days to check things): Shuffle is not listed as a "Key Reward". Is it removable thus enabling/forcing you to have to clear the entire regular board?

Trying to decide the best use of them for live and wondering if it's better off used before starting a board to guarantee you can hit a key reward, or after finding a key reward if you want to go again that day to find the shuffle quicker.

yes shuffle can be destroyed
then you must clear the whole board if you want to play more boards

but great if a key is on the board and you stop after it anyway
shot until shuffle is destroyed. guarantees to win the key on that board

Honestly though I want to hit that shuffle and there's no reason why it should be on the board at all. We've been complaining about this mechanic since the event became.

Of course there may be no key on the board. It seems to alternate with the snowman.
Also, on the snowman bonus board there is no shuffle, but always a key - at least for me.
The houses count extra on the snowman bonus board so you may not want to use the snowballs there anyway.

Shuffle is the essence of what makes the event remotely interesting. It's all well and good to be able to get rid of it on a limited basis, but the event as a whole would have little entertainment value without the shuffle.

If only inno made a fun game with good prices that you don't want to go board to board searching for the price you want. :D

Does anyone know if lighting the house averages 1, 2, 1.5 or 1.25 progress points on the main line? It used to be random 1-3 but they reduced it to 2, but I'm not sure if it's an equal 1.5 or they're weighing it more towards the 1's.

In a rare moment I have to say I quite enjoyed this event. With the progress I had before the final changes and with all that followed. It took many negotiations for the 3rd Rival but I'm willing to overlook that given that the event was nice and I ended up with some useful things so the end feeling was one of reward instead of headaches for nothing. Ended up with multiple Yukimoto Towers (2.5 that is), one more silver + gold upgrades in the bag, Calendar Reward and the 1st level of Eternal Market (tomorrow). I don't think I've bragged like this before here but since it's rare I'm just gonna go ahead and do it :happiness:

For the top 20% player who doesn't do the rivals and didn't do the calendar religiously, I got to 1500 progress points, will get 2 gold yukimotos with extra gold/silver kits, 800 frags to the market (incomplete). Obviously since there have been some major changes to the game, live results may vary (probably for the worse).

I'm still not all in on the limited time buildings. Looks like inno wants to give us more upgrades but it's not really reliable. The vagabond I can't even keep in my city anymore because the base building is too weak. I really don't want to have more responsibilities in this game and managing my city with all these limited time buildings with all their upgrades and when QI starts and when they expire. Maybe a way to just pay dimes to reascend the building would be the easiest solution rather than having to rough all these events and not even get the upgrade you need.

Since it's going to be Christmas, I had a change of heart and decided to spend for the Calendar (roughly 11.5k dimes) since I was saving my bells from end to end (after getting items showing up on dailies that I probably won't have a need for; however, that ascended kit, to which I got 39 of, was something I could not pass up on) to be used on the final day. I managed to get enough key parts to open up 9 doors before spamming away on the remaining 23 doors to get the calendar reward.

I'd probably stay in amateur as I am NOT that stupid in buying 100 bells for 1190 dimes that will only give me about 15 progress points (they are still cheap in giving out 1s with only a few 2s in the mix). But, I am happy with the Crystal Cascade for its 1200 guild goods giving for such a small building.

As for the Yukitomo, I will just keep the one as I didn't spend for the Silver or Gold Pass (this part I will hold true until Inno changes things that will make me fancy for and not give me the bloody dead duck as they had done with the Fellowship event that made the EEs and a few other buildings worthless in my eyes) for the event. So when that time comes for building it, I will decide; and only after getting 20 frags each collection from the Crystal Cascade to make up the shortage (150 is needed to make a kit, so about a week I take it without the use of Self-Aid/Finish Special Production items). I do have the 1 silver and gold kits for it as I made it that far.

I am not so sure about the one special building since I got only 500 frags for it. Looking at what it gives, that population will surely take a nose dive with my happiness in the city but at the same time, those level 2 sleigh builders gonna require a hefty amount should I want to upgrade the ones I have in the city for a few of those. But, if these carry over from one event to the next, and not like GBg to which I have incomplete stacks of fragments, then I will surely get them at my pace.

Kind of felt sorry for the imbalance that will plague the live servers for this event; especially for the 3rd Rival, but I haven't played a live server for nearly a year or more because of my busy schedule, I have time for only 1 city to play, and Beta was my choice.

No you are wrong. If the guild does not meet the requirements then you are not qualified for the following GBG. You need 40 hits of the guild as a total. If you do not hit the requirements then your guild must sit out one season and have to register if you want to participate the following season
I believe that you are mixing up two different scenarios in terms of 'registration.' Since you mention "40 hits," I'm guessing that in the lowest league a guild is required to sign up (register, in your terms) manually by clicking/tapping on the battlegrounds tower and then clicking/tapping on the button to sign up if they don't conquer at least one sector.

On another note, why are people citing being in a 1-person guild as the reason they're not able to complete task requirements due to lack of goods or even units? My Beta city is not only just me but I'm in the Iron Age with very few frills! lol It's not always easy but it's never been impossible for me to negotiate/fight for the events/challenges. AND I have never once built a battlegrounds building so I'm thinking that maybe the folks who are having a hard time with negotiations, for example, are building. That begs the question "why would you build if you know that there 'might be' quests/challenges expecting you to negotiate more than you ordinarily would?" (I already think that building in a 1-person guild is a bit much but to build when you know that costs might increase? That's just bad planning). <<<-----This last paragraph is not directed at you, mintbunnies, but a general comment to others.

For the textbook answer, a guild battlegrounds building HAS NOTHING to do with negotiating sectors. It just give out FP, some goods, some guild goods (auto-donate into the guild), and guild power. Whether or not this building is present has no bearing on negotiations... Only attrition has that, as at certain points the cost of goods needed to negotiate increases, only happens when a person chooses to negotiate instead of fight.

Although to be technical, if you joined a guild too late, you could be locked out of rival tasks since you won't have access to gex, gbg or qi. That kind of blows on its own right. And sometimes not even by your own fault, getting booted out of a guild or the guild disbanding which has happened to me in the middle of these sessions and I had to wait over a week to rejoin with another guild... One time because the guild leader got online after taking ambien (oops!). Who could have predicted that?!

It would be a very interesting game if ge/gbg tasks were autocompleted if you didn't have access to them. :D Would people quit their first page guilds right before the rivals?

I spent all my event currency today and my final result is 1,905 progress. Calendar is complete, 4 golden yukitomo towers, 50 epic ascended selection kits and the Eternal Market is guarenteed tomorrow. All free to play. This event was great! Thanks Inno.
So how on earth could you get Eternal Market?!?
200 fragments from grand prices
100 fragments at the end of the quest line
200 fragments from the calendar
300 fragments from rival
That's 800 fragments, 200 short of 1000, or am I missing something?

That sometimes has been the case in the past and they patched it to no longer be the case :p
