The original idea of the AD was a good one: Get rid of stuff that is useless to you and instead get a few things that are useful. Especially for players not so long in the game yet and people who just don't have enough time to finish the events properly it was a great way to get missing kits or interesting buildings.
And yes, the AD had not aged very well. There were too many buildings so outdated that they had even been old when I started playing in 2017. (When the AD did not even exist yet!) And too few new ones were added over the years. So it DID need an upgrade.
But what you did here with the AD is not an upgrade. You simply ruined it.
- Players not so long in the game cannot use the AD any longer, because they do not have the necessary amount of coins and jewels. Especially jewels are hard to come by. And what you get for them now is, sorry, ridiculous. While on the other hand the amount of coins needed for auctions also is ridiculous. It will take you ages and lots of stuff to sell to ever get there. The ratio between what you have to sell and what you can get for that is completely off kilter. Even for long-time players.
- What is offered in the shop is often quite unbalanced. Just have a look at post #245. Only military units. Who needs those? Fighters after a short while have enough GBs and event buildings giving them strength and troops enough so they do not have to buy them for ridiculously high prices. And for new players, who might need them, they are simply unaffordable. But nothing else, in this case, is on offer.
- But even when other things are on offer, the prices are so high that most players will simply pass. I am a merchant. Goods for jewels - why would I???
Please do not introduce this on Live. It will simply kill the AD. Instead keep up the (on Live) current system, but with a few tweeks:
- You can easily find out what sells well and what does not. I mean, who needs something like blue vine? So get rid of these things and replace them with newer ones that are still interesting.
- With well-liked items like wishing wells or sleigh builders you could slightly (!) increase the prices.
- You could still add recent event items at high prices to the auctions. Players who already have been playing a long time and have enough coins might be interested. But keep offering older event buildings for smaller prices as well, so newer players or those with not so much time can still benefit.
THAT, in my opinion, would be an upgrade.
