Every few months this idea gets run up the flagpole. The reason behind it is always innocuous (e.g. we want to recognize the diamond contributors) but it's really a thinly veiled attempt to mandate GBG diamond spending by all guild members - just as @CrashBoom said. Big -1 from me.
