Thanks for the re-balance, shows peeps you do listen to constructive feedback. :)

Will the rebalancing come into effect before christmas? (daily changelog still says that Wednesday's update was the last one before Christmas)

Edit: Judging from the rewards shown with the bronze league it seems to be already there. So it's just missing in the daily changelog ;-)

The changes were applied without a full server update taking place. :) Hence announced, but not as part of a daily update. You can see the ingame timestamp of the game version is still yesterday's.

Thanks for making the main prize achievable. Personally I would have preferred the Colossus upgrade as a daily special rather than more footballs (and that would have encouraged me to spend diamonds to get 2 of them, where as now I'm not likely to !), but this should at least guarantee one fully upgraded Colossus as long as you complete the quests.

You didn't need to adjust your reward-per-quest up, you needed to adjust the cost-per-upgrade down. You haven't adjusted the diamond/football conversion, so it's just as expensive as it was before to go for more than one, which means there's no point in spending money on it. Everyone will just be happy with the one free one. I realize from the perspective of some socialist university classroom it's good to have everyone equal, but I'm a greedy capitalist lol. I just don't understand this from a sales/marketing perspective.

Of course tweaks in the Event are all well and good, but it's very small compared to one very big question: will the Upgrade be a Daily Special? Yes or no? Because that's what it will come down to for me (and I suspect a lot of others) when it goes Live. If the Upgrade is a DS I'll open the wallet, if it's not I won't.

@Zarok Dai I'm asking straight-up: will the Upgrade be a DS? The suspense is killing me...

No, and it won't need to be :)

Wrong answer ZD. You are forgetting those of us that want more than 1 statue. I agree that you have made it possible for most of us to get 1 grand prize but the cost of getting 2 is still prohibitively expensive. On the live servers there are many of us who are happy to spend real money to improve our game experience but the spend has to be within reasonable limits. With 10 levels needed and approximately 4K diamonds per level, that is just toooo much for many of us. Look at making it something less than half that and you may well be surprised by the number of takers. Also it would be really useful to know the number of yards that each move achieves rather than just a "ball cost" with no yardage quoted. Should not be too difficult?

I understand that players want more than one, but at this time it would appear game design does not want them to have more than one. I will see what I can find out about the intent, but they don't always tell us why they do something.

Thank you for being honest. While this is a great disappointment, it is very important information to have.

I understand that players want more than one, but at this time it would appear game design does not want them to have more than one. I will see what I can find out about the intent, but they don't always tell us why they do something.

This is the part I just don't understand. Why don't you want people spending money on your product? I'm baffled by a sales plan that encourages people not to buy. Maybe this is why I'm an engineer and not a marketing executive, because I just can't wrap my mind around this statement from a sales perspective. Isn't the whole point of this game (from Inno's side) to get people to spend money buying diamonds?

Of course, this is just a game and I'm just a player in the game. If this is the course Inno wants to set I'll play it; I have other hobbies I can channel disposable income into.

This is the part I just don't understand.

For example, depending on the long range plans for the game, multiples of this building may have been felt to create a game balancing problem in the future, but I am just guessing on that at this time.

Having one for free if you are doing all the quests seems the right choice so thumbs up for that.

About those players that want to get an advantage by spendong some diamonds: I think there should be better ways in the game than just purchasing it directly. Better enable paying players to earn them like unlocking the questline to be done a second time.

I think this is a great idea. It's similar to the basic thought behind the Cultural Settlements; if you want to use diamonds to get through faster you can but you have to work for it. How many times you can finish and flip the Questline could be enhanced via diamonds, but you'd still have to do the work.

It'll never happen, but it's definitely a fun idea.

Whales will whale anyways if the building's good enough (see cities with 60+ ships or 20+ cherry sets (~600k diamonds worth)). People who might buy a 2nd or 3rd if it were cheaper might not buy any. From a $ earned perspective you have to look at whether the increased earnings from those who will spend as much as they have to to get what they want outweighs the lost earnings from those who won't spend at all because it's too much to get anything. If this building is a new tier of power upgrade effectively (and at 14% attack boost with 6 FP in VF I'd say it is), they're charging for the whales. There might be slightly watered down versions for cheaper a few events down the road.
