Feedback First Impressions/ First Suggestions

Hello forum and other players/admins,

-First Impressions-

well i had some trouble logging in....i thought the entry code was my password... oops, but after i got in it all went very smoothly. fast loading time, great graphics but no sounds or back round music :(. so then i started off on the short and quick tutorial, and moved on 2 doing the quests.
So my rating so far after about 20 min of game play is a solid 9/10 (no 10/10 because of sound/music) the only other thing is that the game realy slows down after a few min/quests. I cant wait 2 explore deeper into the game. Great work so far :)

-Suggestions-

i think i will just make a list of them. :cool:

-Upgrading buildings 2 better forms (Hut > stilt house > Etc)
-Ability 2 delete things (buildings,roads,etc)
-Music/Sound
-Ability 2 move decorations..or just move any building

But again great game so far and cant wait 2 see more :)

The whole team has been working really hard on the game.

I can make you happy by directly telling you that we are working on sounds already and the upgrade possibilities is something we are looking in to do as well in the future. =)

You can delete and move buildings/ decorations, therefore you have to click on the tools menu next to the building menu ; )

The lack of sound doesn't really bother me, but in a distant future, it would be a nice addition.

I can't already post my feedback, as I have only played a few hours, but I will do it later on : )

Well its nice 2 see that some of the things i was suggesting are already in the works, thanks for the help finding out how 2 move things :). game is AMAZING, keep up the great work :)

Love the game, the looks the interface everything.
I just have a connection issue, idk why but it keeps disconnecting me from the server.

It happened to me, when i tried to connect in my school. At home it works fine, so i think its a problem with your internet router.

The game is still great so far, but I am noticing some rather annoying thing :

I am doing this tutorial, but I want to do something else then what this guy is telling me. I want to get some money off houses, but I can't because I cannot click the messages from the quests way. Is there any chance that an option could be given so you can still loot your houses and what so ever? Because now I cannot take the money I want to take.

If you finish the tutorial, it is not very long, you can do what you want. =)

Well the current problem I am having is that I am stuck at a certain point because I lost the first battle (which is because I took the wrong part of a battle I think, as I had 5-6 units against me) & now I need some money to make units. But I am not able to, so that's why I asked for it. Even if the tutorial isn't that long, sometimes you might get stuck if you do something less smart & then can't do anything else.

I am also having a suggestion, I notice I have to click each building if I want to get the money or troops out of them. Isn't that very time consuming? Might it be an idea to give those materials automaticly but that you get more if you click on them? Like you would get 7 normally from a house in 5 minutes. If you can't click it you get 6 gold coins in 6 minutes.

Hi, I hope this post will be read by the developers, so I have not wasted my time.
This is only a first impression after about 6 hours of playing the game, it could be possible that I have a totally different attitude towards some points by tomorrow.

-The research functions are great, they also have to, as the game is practically based/advertised on/with this system. At the time, I have nothing to add to this feature.

-I don’t know what I should think about the map, I can conquer new provinces, but I don’t see what the benefits are, the second province gives a city expansion, which is great, but I want to see some changes after I grow my empire. Either have additional features like getting taxes or something else (This is a weak suggestion, but I really don’t know a better use of this feature).
The first province gives me the ability to refine trees, at a stage where I can only dream of building a lumbermill, in fact I can now conquer the 3th province and I am not even thinking about being able to build a lumbermill (probably the same for province 3 and others).

-Like xXStampsXx posted, being able to upgrade buildings instead of building new hardly different buildings would be nice, but this is probably mid to late-term priority.

-I don’t get the use of the population. Sure, I need population to build troops and buildings and I get population by building houses, but as the houses give me gold, I have to build a lot of them, so that I have way to much free population, which I don’t know how to use properly.
Suggestion: Separate the houses, which give population from a new building-style (goldmines,..) which gives gold.

-In the current form, the battle is great, although I hope for more multi-player interaction (see Multiplayer below)
After building up your city, do we have the possibilities to conquer other peoples cities? If not, there isn’t really a big time-frame where we can play. (I later on assume this is possible)
The army can presumably only be 8 men big, so the players have probably to get 8 men of each new military troop, so the spear fighter barracks (and any barracks below the most developed one) will get unnecessary.
Suggestion: Only 1 barrack where you can train all the troops you can research.
While using the ‘finish’ button, the com****r plays for me, and I see every move my army makes, but if I use this button, I want the battle to be faster and I want to see the report the second I click the button. The behavior is good in PvP, but for PvE, my suggestion would fit better.

-The tutorial was quite short, but it did a good job and explained the things I needed to know.
The quest are at the beginning really easy and straightforward, you can do the tasks in a few minutes until the quest ‘Build a goods building’, where the players need at least a few hours to get enough strategy points to research this building.
I wanted a smother translation between the easy quests and the ones that need at least 1 day of working/waiting.
Suggestion: Add more little easy quests and decrease the gap between easy and difficult quests.

-The little people walking on the streets are nice, but they appear from nowhere and disappear into nothing at the end of the roads.
Suggestion: The people should walk out of and into buildings instead of coming and going into nowhere.

-The inventory has little to no use, the only thing that was in my inventory was a city expansion. I hope we will get more items to use the inventory in future.

-This is the most important point I have, there is no real multiplayer experience. This game needs a good multiplayer experience, every online game needs social interaction and I really hope, you (InnoGames, Developpers) have learned something from SevenLands and get your stuff together.
Until now, I can see other players, their city and I can attack them. This is not what I understand if I talk about true multiplayer experience and this is not what I want the game to launch with.
The basics should already be in development, proper profiles, a proper ranking/stats, interaction(messages) and guilds(or tribes or allys,..).
After that we need multiplayer interaction in battles and cities. I want to be able to fight with a friend against an enemy (or more), furthermore want I to conquer enemies (if this is part of the game, see above) with friends and built up cities with friends.
The last suggestion is really difficult to develop and probably more we would have imagined, but you have to blow our minds if you want this product to be successful.
To get me right, you have to set the player interaction as priority number 1 after solving bugs, I don’t want to sound rude, but this is way more important than music or [insert random wanted feature](correct me if I am wrong, but Tribal-wars and all the successful browsergames started with a good multiplayer interaction not with music) and the current social features are compared to the competition rubbish.


tl;dr you wanted feedback, so read the post.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like the game,I see huge potential and I don’t want to bash IG nor the developers for their work.
The features that I have not mentioned here are probably good enough or I haven’t found them.

What I would like to see for multiplayer would be a way to play the game with or against your friends.

Like you would have the same map, the game would work the same. The only difference is, you don't fight against npc's but against your friends. Or if you don't have so many friends, play with your friends & be able to conquer npc's too.

I think that it would be hell allot of fun to be able to play against your friends without having the trouble of having other players harashing you. Also there should be a singleplayer option where you can't be attacked by other players at all. But won't be placed in the ranks either.

I think that those two things would improve this game allot & give new ways to play it.

Thank you for your comments. This is still a very early version of the game and we have lots of cool stuff planned for the future. But before that, we need to start somewhere. This is why we're doing this Exclusive Beta so we can learn what you guys like ;-)

Why does it look so good :( From what i have seen on the outside it looks amazing :(

The idea of the Live PvP is brilliant as well as "Social & Sabotage Interaction"

I Wanna play :(

Like Sarky said this is still a very early version so i would think most of your ideas will be implemented before the game goes full launch,

My real question so far is what is with the Stale Production feature..... that seems like a huge turn away. So now your are asking what is he talking about? well i told my potteries 2 make the 1 hours worth of Supplies and i came back maybe 3 hours later (i had a nap :)) and i said i had stale production. witch from what i can gather gives me no Supplies.
I understand what you guys tried 2 do with this feature (at least i think i do) your where trying 2 get people 2 stay online and check the game more.....but some times life (or sleep) does come up and i think this feature is a little unfair.

Okay. first of all: congratiulation to this verry good looking game. And thank you for making this ugly Friendsbar on the bottom of the window disable. the first thing i thought was: Hell no! another ****ing facebook game! But then i realized that it is not another facebook game, it is an other browsergame that uses the same zynga-game-routine-stuff as farmville, cityville and whateverville.

The most anoying thing about this game is: that you do not have any recources like stone, wood and whatever. all you have is supplies or you can call it stuff or maybe xyz. Its not neccesarry how you call it because it doesent matter what it is. every construction building you can have will produce these XYZs and it doesent matter what you will build and even whorse: it doesent matter what you are about to produce because its totaly unnecassary if you produce a trophy or a fur because the game doesent care about it. it just take longer than the others and give you more stuff.

so: where is the strategy spirit in this game? you dont have these cool moments of "ok, bulding XYZ needs more wood than stone and even more stone than i have in my storrage so now i have to build a stoner first to get the other building". It feels like this game was made for people who are not the smartest guys for strategygames but for those guys who want to tell everybody around him "jeah, i play strategy games too!". I dont want to start complaining about the money farming... iam pretty glad that you dont have any coins that pops out on the streets and than you have to collect them with your cursor. also the Hexagon fight is verry nice. but with the resource thing you will just will copy all the zyngastuff that destroys the whole browsergame mechanics and continiue making games for retarded people.

so... thats just my 2 cents...

This is not entirely true - a bit into the game, you'll have Good Buildings that produce additional resources other than Coins or Supplies. These Goods are required to research advanced technologies, for negotiations with NPCs on the campaign map and will become even more important in future versions. Consider Coins and Supplies just as basic resources.

I wonder, is there still any market planned so you can trade with other players? Because currently I am having allot of gold and not enough of tools while someone else might have many tools & no gold. So will any be added is my question?

I'm 100% agree with the multiplayer function Jules presented, and would like to see this IG ;)

Also i would stop playing the game if it got like one of these Facebook games. I'm interested in this game because that you (InnoGames) are good to make games, and i want like a new twist instead of TribalWars, and that is exactly what this is untill now. But it needs some features, like Rambazamba wrote, that makes it more like a strategy-game.
